HG: Catching Fire (Gefährliche Liebe) Thoughts

WARNING: This post contains spoilers. If you have not yet read The Hunger Games or Catching Fire, go to your local library and check them out, or go here and here and order yourself the first two ebooks. If you have a Kindle and Amazon Prime, you can read the ebooks for free. Simply not reading these books is not an option.

[Greets you all by making the salute from District 12]. Yeah, how's that for a new greeting, eh?

So anyway,  I finished Catching Fire yesterday, but because I read it in German, I didn't even know that was the title until... yesterday. [Side Note: the German title translated means "dangerous love." I'm not sure that I like that title.]

Titles aside, let me tell you some of my feelings and thoughts upon finishing this book.

- Sigh, okay. Katniss.... I guess I don't hate you. As much. Anymore.
- WHERE THE EFF IS PEETA, AND IS HE OKAY?!
- Haymitch, you sly, sly dog.
- Katniss - are you stupid? It was obvious that Plutarch Heavensbee was planning something. Did you not see his secret mockingjay?
- CINNA!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
- Ugh. Gale. I don't like you - go away already.
- I KNEW there was a District 13.
- S*%& has hit the freaking fan. I doubt President Snow is going to be happy about this.
- Wait... was Peeta's leg metal? Why didn't it go all rusty in all that water? Okay, it probably wasn't metal.
- I wonder what Finnick looks like in real life - he sounds hot.
- WHERE THE EFF IS PEETA, AND IS HE OKAY?! Yeah, I know I said that already, but I'm sort of "team Peeta," and this is really bugging me...

Overall, I loved it. I can't say anything about Suzanne Collins or her writing style, because I have no idea what it's like. I'm stuck reading translations, which makes life a little more difficult.

I have the 3rd book, but I probably won't start reading until later today, so don't expect it to be finished until Thursday or so. My goal with these books is to read about 100 pp per day so that I can finish them within 4ish days.

What did you guys think? Have you read them? DON'T GIVE ANYTHING AWAY ABOUT THE 3RD BOOK!!!!

PS: I'm over here today.

Okay, so I have read all three but seriously! WHERE THE HELL IS PEETA, is sooo right! I was freaking out with what was going on with him. And oh, Cinna! I know right!? How the hell can that just happen... I thought I had read it wrong and had to read it again! hahah. All I can say is that book three will play more with your emotions... the whole Peeta, Katniss, Gale thing gets really tricky and I got super emotionally involved. However, I found that the third book went a little slower for me... So I am eager to see what you think!!! I am so geeking out right now but I CANNOT WAIT to see how they transformed all of this written imagery into a movie! I am so excited to see how everything looks and works and yeah, it is going to be AWESOME!

Reading this reminded me that I don't remember certain details of the book anymore!! I still remember the emotions and reactions it got out of me.... but I think it's time to read the books again :)

Right well I can't wait for you to finish reading the third book! I love your love hate with Katniss haha! You are so funny!

Your thoughts sound similar to what mine were!!!

It's pathetic how in love with a fictional character I am. Peeta is perfect.

I was a little (maybe a lot) disappointed in the third book but others loved it so I'm way interested to hear what you think. HURRY AND FINISH!

Catching Fire is my favorite of the three ;) It finally shows how tortured Katniss is and how ridiculous Gale is.....Don't worry, I totally had a panic attack about Peeta! I cried and called Andrew demanding the third book so I could know what happened hahahaha I can't wait til you finish them all!!

Oh god, I loved this series wayyyy too much. I think I read all three books at least 12 times. You will LOVE the last one, I hope.

I hate to break it to ya but there IS no Finnick in real life. He's a fictional character. ;)

I can't wait to see who they get to play Finnick!
I never really hated Katniss... She's a much better female character than most since she can take care of herself and her men... (cough, men, cough)... It's about time she narrowed it down to Peeta though... I like Gale well enough. I mentioned this thought to my sister (AND KNOW that I am only on like Chapter 5 of the third book), but I'm hoping Madge is out there somewhere and her and Gale get together... Just a thought.
I'm also slightly holding on to Cinna being alive somewhere... And when they rescue Peeta in whatever way he gets free that Cinna will be there too... You can clearly see I've put WAY to much thought into this... Better just finish the book. haha.

Ahh, I'm so in love with Finnick, but I kind of like Gale too. Peeta just isn't my cup of tea. Haha.

My thoughts were oh so similar when I finished Catching Fire! My husband is nearly finished with now, and I love hearing his (wrong) ideas of what is going on. I felt like Catching Fire was more of a set up for Mocking Jay (book 3) than it was a book to itself. Team Peeta! ;)

Oh man, so I had to wait to read this blog until after I finished Book 2. (Yesterday!) I'm so worried for Peeta (in that, "I know this is fictional but I still love him" kind of way.) And honestly I thought District 13 was where they held the Games at. I liked my theory but I guess it's alright for District 13 to come in and save the day... I guess.

Time for book 3!
