Toilet Talk. Sumo Wrestlers. Awesomeness.

Hello again, you schmexy people, you! You don't have a problem with me calling you sexy, do you? No? Great. Now go look in the mirror and tell yourselves how schmexy you are. Then come back to your computer and read the rest of this post.

This is a potty-mouth post. Just warning you now. In honor of taking the toilet out of the bathroom so that I can start painting, I wanted to give you a post in which I tell you all things toilet. Or actually just five things, because we all know how psycho I am when it comes to having lists of five.

Anyway.

1. How do morbidly obese people sit on a toilet and aim?? Husband and I were talking about this the other day (totally normal, I know), and were completely perplexed. Any sumo wrestlers out there that wanna tell me how they manage to avoid getting poop all over the floor?
2. I watched an episode of myth busters where they found that the toilet seat really is the cleanest surface in a public restroom. As in the floor had more fecal matter than the toilet seat. I never set my bags on the floor in public restrooms now. I don't need a poop bag, thanks.

3. Heated toilet seats exist and I want one. Is that weird? Probably. But you know what? I don't care.

4. German men pee sitting down. I'm not kidding. They even have signs telling men not to stand. Interesting, eh? <--I just channeled my [nonexistent] inner Canadian.

5. I am terrified of toilets overflowing. It is one of my biggest fears. It just sounds so... nasty, especially since there's usually only one reason your toilet is clogged. I'm sorry, but that kinda water is not what I want all over my bathroom floor.

With that, dear readers, I leave you with some very funny, very pretty, very talented, and very not-toilet bloggers. I consider each of these ladies friends and read each of their blogs on a regular basis (and I obviously have fantastic taste). Trust me when I tell you that a visit to each blog will be well worth your while. Besides, what else do you have to do on a Saturday afternoon? HA! Totally kidding, I know you all are awesome and have lives. Now I'm gonna shut up and let these awesome ladies do the talking.

If my blog makes you want to 1. ride a bike, 2. bake a cake, or 3. be a nurse, then I have done my job. But If you aren't into any of those things, we can still be friends. We already have a couple things in common: we like Alyx's blog and we are human beings. See? Hello, friend.

Hey there! My name is Rosie and I am the gal behind Craftbotic, a friendly blog based around all kinds of crafts, from literature to sewing.  When I first started blogging (a whole 4 months ago), I thought it would be a place to record all the stuff I made, now it's that and so much more thanks to the rest of the blogging community.  I co-host a book club, run a project called Blog Angels and also regular link-ups. I'd love it if you'd come say hello and while you're there, come and join in!

Hi there!  I'm Kym and I blog about my style, my musings, random thoughts, and other assorted nonsense over at bitty.and.bunny.  I'm just a left-handed animal lover who loves to do yoga, is a vegetarian struggling to love her veggies, lets her boyfriend convince her to go on long runs, and has a soft spot for good books, mashed potatoes, and skirts with pockets.  I hope you'll hop on over sometime for a visit; I love meeting new people!

Favorite Things Friday

Howdy, Friends!!

So... I'm thinking that this is going to be a pretty short post. Mostly because I'm behind on some design work, dead tired, hungry, and grumpy. So... yes, it will be short and sweet.

Favorite Things Friday: Recent Events Edition

1. The home inspection went well! There are really only a few minor things that need fixing. DO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS?!?! In about a month, I will finally have my own space again for the first time in a looonnngggg time. And for the first time ever if we're talking about actually owning a home. So happy.
2. I have a second interview. I guess today's interview went well because I'm meeting with the VP of the department in a week and a half or so. I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high, because I don't want to be disappointed if something doesn't work out.

3. Seeing one of my besties and former roomies for the first time in more than a year. I was a dumb-face and didn't get a pic of us together, but here's an oldie but goodie.
4. Learning more about couponing from my SIL. It sounds dorky, but I am so stoked to be learning more ways to save money!!

5. Having the BEST blog readers ever. Seriously, you guys - I cannot thank you enough for all of the support and love you give me. I never would have guessed when I started blogging about 9-10 months ago that I would love the community this much. I'm so grateful to have met all of you - you've made the bad days more bearable and the good days and events even better. I love you all.
Now I'm done being a sap.

And... I decided to do a Q&A vlog session where I answer your ridiculous questions. They don't have to be ridiculous, but ridiculous is fun. So... if you have a silly question, or something that you've just been dying to know, leave it in the comments section (if you wanna ask anonymously, just make yourself anon in the comments section). If you don't want to watch a vlog... don't leave a question.

But... I like looking like an idiot on camera for you guys, so ask away. :)

Sweet, Sweet Summertime & Sunburn. Or I'm on a Boat!!

Goooooood morning, friends!!!

Today I will probably not be able to respond to emails or comment on your blogs, but know that I will be reading every single comment that I get. Why, you ask (even if you didn't ask, I'm going to tell you)? Because we will be in Nebraska all day. I have a job interview, then we meet with the bank, then the home inspection, then dinner with one of my best friends (who I haven't seen in over a year).

Sorry to unplug again, but life is calling my name, and I am not going to ignore it!

Please click "play" on this video and listen to it as you scroll through a bunch of ridiculous pictures. It makes it WAY better.

Now's the part where you look through a million pictures.

Have a great Thursday!!

Hey everyone!!

Hope you all are having a fabulous week!! I'm currently ripping my in-laws' bathroom apart so that it can be updated a bit, and let me tell you - I will NEVER  buy a house that has wallpaper up. EVER. It's the WORST to get down, especially when some stupid head has wallpapered the freaking ceiling. I mean, really? WHO DOES THAT?!?! Okay, wallpaper rant over.

So I'm gonna tell you right now - this post is a random, jumbled mess. I feel the need to tell you about that skirt up there. It's actually a dress, I'm just too much of a giant to wear it the proper way. I've also worn it a total of like, 6 times in the past week and a half. So sue me - I'm a repeat offender. Anyway, I won it on Gentri Lee's blog during her birthday giveaways week.

Can I actually rewind to my wallpaper rant? Great, let me tell you some loves and hates for this week, and start there:
I love the feeling that you get after all the hideous wallpaper has been torn down.
I hate the process of tearing said wallpaper down [from the ceiling... wth].

I love that our new house has no wallpaper.
I hate that it smells like old people.

I love the heat and sunshine.
I hate that the 40 mph wind is keeping me from riding my bike.

I love the hilly terrain in Northeast Iowa when I'm out on the 4-wheeler.
I hate the hilly terrain when I'm attempting to ride my bike.

I love looking at furniture for our house.
I hate that we cannot afford any of it, and even if we had extra money, it would be going to student loans.

If you have any loves and hates, you can link them up over at Noël's blog.

Ooh, and now back to Gentri. I love doing the 7 questions every Wednesday - the questions are always so fun!

1. If you could be any princess- which would you be and why?
Ariel, duh! She's a freaking mermaid - do I really have to explain myself? Except instead of marrying Eric the lame-o, I would just stay a mermaid and live under the sea with Sebastian and Flounder forever.

2. Do you have any odd habits? (do things in order, words that you say too often, etc)
I have a routine that I follow when towel-drying, I load the dishwasher a certain way, and I say "Holy balls" far too often.

3. What's your "go to" outfit?
Ummm... jeans and a t-shirt. Or sweats if I'm spending the day at home.

4. Do you have any siblings? What are their genders, ages, order of age, names, etc?
I have three brothers - one older, two younger.

5. What's your favorite precious stone?
Diamonds. But... not just any diamond - my diamond.

6. If you had a check in your hand for 1 million dollars, what would you do with it?
Pay off student loans, buy a car, pay off the house, start college funds for our future children, pay for Mike's school, invest some of it, and put the rest in a savings account. I know, I know - boring answers, but that's what bills do to a person- they make us boring.

7. What do you love most about yourself- physically (eyes, smile, hair, etc. I don't know a good way to word that question...)?
I'm actually pretty dang happy with my physical appearance. I think I like my legs and back best. I also like my height. And now I'm starting to sound like a self-absorbed lady-douche, so I'll shut up and show you the mandatory funny picture to redeem myself.

Happy Hump Day!!!

An Apple a Day Keeps the Doctor Away... or Something Like That.

Hi guys!

I think you all should know that I frickin' love apples. Especially when they're dipped in JIF. It's been a while since I've talked about my JIF PB obsession, hasn't it? Well, consider it talked about.

Anyway... I have a special surprise for you guys today! I don't know if you know this, but I also love apples in the form of clothing. Not like an apple costume, but as in Shabby Apple - the clothing company. If you've heard of them, I'm sure you won't need to ask me why I love their clothes so much, but if you want to know... just look at this picture!

Hey guys!!

First things first: I'm giving away some cool stuff over here

Today it's going to be a picture overload - partially because I really miss Europe, and partially because I realize that I'm going to completely forget about our trip to Scotland if I don't ever document it. It's just really overwhelming because we took SO. MANY. PICTURES.

Anyway. The pictures are captioned (if you care to know what they are). Enjoy!

Obviously this is me.
So happy that we were getting back in the car.

So there ya go. I'm not going to talk your ears off - hope that's okay.

One more thing before I go, though - my latest blog design! Sara moved to a different home in France, and decided she wanted a new blog look to go along with the move! Click the pic to see it live. I may be biased, but I like it. :)
And... You may want to stop by tomorrow... There will be a surprise!! Have a happy Monday, people!!

Sunday Confessions Link Up

Hi Guys!!

Sorry this is late... I definitely forgot to write up and schedule a post before we left for the lake on Friday. Anyway. You know the drill - grab a button, write your confessions, and link up!

1. My entire body is sore. We spent about seven hours on the lake yesterday, and a lot of that time was spent being pulled around on the tube. My arms hurt, my back hurts, my pecs hurt, my legs hurt - everything. I think my face in this picture pretty much sums up the pain.

2. I am starting to believe that sunscreen is useless and doesn't work. I applied it three times yesterday and still managed to get a burn somehow. This is unusual for me, too, since I don't usually burn.

3. Even though I was unplugging for the weekend, I checked my email a few times. Oops. I'm telling you - this stupid iPhone is going to ruin me. I did ignore it all day Saturday, though.

4. My swimsuit bottoms fell off yesterday. I flew off the tube, and my bottoms definitely went down to my ankles. Good thing that water was super dirty.

5. This isn't really a confession, but our first offer on our future home was accepted! We offered a few thousand less than we were actually willing to pay, just in case, but they accepted! We aren't in the clear yet, though - we still have inspections to go. I'm trying to keep from getting too excited, but it's hard!
We hate the color, so the first thing we're going to do is paint the house white with red shutters.
