Happy Sunday!
... and happy General Conference weekend, too! Hope you all are getting some rest and enjoying time spent with family and friends.
1. I messed up on the no treats thing on Friday... and so I went alllllll the way. Mike brought me a donut for breakfast, so I ate it without thinking, then realized it was probably considered a treat. So... I ate a delicious slice of cake (770 calories of pure deliciousness) and a TON of candy. So much, in fact, that I will not be needing another cheat day anytime soon.
2. Umm... I peed on the side of the running trail yesterday. I probably should've gone to the bathroom before I left for an hour and a half of running, but let's just ignore that fact. Good thing I always bring tissues on my long runs. Anyway... don't worry - I don't think anyone saw me. I'm sure you're all busy clicking the "unfollow" button now. HA!
3. In the past two weeks, I have watched more television than any human ever should. Like, really. It's bad. Really bad. Recent favorites have been every season of Drop Dead Diva, the one season of Emily Owens, MD that's on Netflix, Call the Midwives, and, of course, Psych.
4. I cried when Elsie figured out how to crawl. I know, it's pathetic. She's 10 months and most babies start to crawl between 5-7 months... so I had plenty of time to prepare for this, but I still was not ready to come to terms with the fact that she's growing up!
5. I hate doing dishes. With a passion. But then again, who likes doing them? No one sane, that's who!!!

Confess.
Happy Sunday.
Look, I realize that I'm super late posting a blog post, but... I don't care. I just decided that I wanted to write a post, and just because it's not 8:00 in the morning doesn't mean I'm not going to hit the "publish" button. Who cares if less people see this?
1. After this fitness challenge is over, I'm going to eat an entire gallon of ice cream. BY MYSELF. So part of this challenge is that you can't have "treats." I really like ice cream, so to me, that's considered a treat. It also means that I haven't had ice cream in about two weeks. I think I'm going insane.
2. My poor Girl Scout Cookies. Also treats. Sure, I could eat them, but then I wouldn't be as close to winning $200. This means those poor things will be neglected till June 1st. And then? I'm going to dip my Girl Scout Cookies in ice cream for hours on end.
3. I've lost 2 cup sizes since Elsie weaned herself and I've been working out 5+ days/week. I guess my boobs just happen to be where all my fat stores itself? Still waiting on my love handles to disappear, but now that my boobs have made their exit, those pesky things are the last to go. And... I have to admit - I won't be sad to see them leave.
4. I am mad that Avicii doesn't credit the people who sing on his tracks. Like the song "Hey Brother?" Yeah, I love that song. And when I discovered that Avicii is also the artist behind "Wake Me Up," I realized that it's not him who's doing the singing, and the people who actually DO sing? Well, they're not given any credit. All that being said, the dude puts together some songs with fabulous beats that are great for accompanying workouts.
5. I think yoga is hard. Yep, call me a wuss or whatever you want - that crap is not easy!!
Any confessions on your end?

Happy Sunday!!
Hope you all have survived that lost hour of sleep (except you lame-os in AZ who don't have to suffer like the rest of us)! Anyway, here are this week's confessions.
1. I went through and started working a little more on my photography blog. I just added three or four posts (almost all of which are back-dated). I still have about 40 sessions to add if I decide to add all the sessions I've done, but ain't nobody got time fo' dat!
2. I've made my bed every day since I made our headboard! This is pretty much a miracle, since I generally suck at making the bed when I wake up. And yes, I will be sharing this tutorial with you all (in a Pinterest favorites post this coming week - I have to do a couple more projects/recipes). And... I will also add a non-cell phone picture to that post. ;)
3. I really, really have to pee. But I don't want to get up until this post is finished. I blame you all if I pee my pants.
4. I want a little boy someday so that I can sing this song to him. Too bad I'm convinced that I'm going to have all girls. I've thought about writing a girl version.
5. I cut Mike's hair on Friday and didn't mess up AT ALL! Not even around the ears (that's the hardest part for me)!!

Sunday Confessions
Happy Sunday!!!
No witty intros today, so let the confessing begin!
1. We have entered home reno mode. Sort of. Like, weekend-only-after-1pm-because-we-value-our-sleep-home-reno-mode. We ordered nice white doors about a week ago and they came in on Friday night. Mike went out and bought all the trim for around the doors, and it's my job to paint the other trim this week. I'm also on a mission to pick out all the different wall colors, so that's fun.
We've got 10 or so doors to replace and 2 bedrooms and the living room and hallway to paint. Just yesterday we (and by we I obviously mean Mike) replaced the vanity in our master bedroom's half bath. We (and by we I obviously mean Mike) are probably going to be sinners and replace the toilet that's in there today (yes, a Sunday - GASP!). I'm making a note to start taking all the "before" pictures today or tomorrow before things get too serious!
2. I skipped two runs this past week. And.... I'm going to try to make up my 5 mile run today.
3. We have stopped ze house hunt. After talking about it, we have realized that we might not want to settle in Lincoln (holy property taxes, Batman!), so we have decided to renovate our current house to make it what WE want for the next couple of years, then when Mike is done with school in 2015 (can't come soon enough), we'll see where life takes us. I'm kind of bummed that we'll be bound to 960 sq ft for the next couple of years, but I'm kind of excited to have a house where I can be all, "LOOK WHAT WE DID!!! WE TURNED A HIDEOUS HOUSE INTO SOMETHING LOVELY!!"
4. I keep wearing cute outfits and wanting to do outfit posts (because that's part of the fun of being a vain blogger)... but then I realize I have no one to take my picture. And I think Elsie would try to eat my camera if I asked her to do it.
5. I hate bras. And if it was socially acceptable, I would NEVER wear them (except when running, because let's be real - running without a bra would NOT be comfortable).

Confessions
Happy Sunday, all!!
I'm just going to get right down to business.
1. I was supposed to run 5 miles yesterday, but I didn't give myself enough time. Oops. I really didn't want to run on the treadmill (again), so I decided to run outside. The only problem? I only gave myself about 45 minutes. Lately I've been running at a pace between 10:30-11:00/mile, so there was no way I was going to make 5 miles in that time frame. I ended up doing 4, which gives me a total of about 11.5 miles for the week, plus half a mile of swimming.
2. I am really beginning to hate winter. Okay, so this isn't as much a confession as it is a complaint. But seriously?!? EFF OFF, WINTER!!!
3. Mike and I have been re-watching Psych. At least 2 episodes per day. I forgot how much I love this show!!!
4. We spent way too much money yesterday. Being an adult is expensive, yo.
5. I have had a piece of cheesecake every day for the past five days. And I don't even care. OM NOM NOM!!!!
What do you have to confess?

Happy Sunday!
Blah blah blah (insert something snarky, yet charming here)... blah blah blah... I don't feel like scraping the bottom of my brain for something interesting to say in this post intro... blah. blah. BLAH.
1. My boobs post-baby suck. There, I said it. They are smaller than they were before and they're like deflated balloons. Thanks, Elsie. But... really, I love you so much that I am okay with the fact that I gave up my boobs for you.
2. I'm obsessed with the Better Homes and Gardens candles from Wal-Mart. I seriously think they're better than Yankee Candles. And that's saying a lot, because I hate Wal-Mart with a fiery burning passion (meaning that I also have to hate everything that comes from Wal-Mart).
3. Since discovering running tights, I don't know if I'll ever run in shorts again. Eh, who am I kidding?! The second it gets above 40 degrees I'll be singing the song, "Who wears short shorts? ALYX wears short shorts!" and bouncing down the street in my neon yellow running shorts.
4. I hate running, but I signed up for a half marathon. I think I was drugged and forced against my will to sign up. Or someone spiked my kool-aid. Or I am just really good at succumbing to peer pressure.
5. I've gots da baby fever. You can thank newborn photography for that. I mean, really - just LOOK AT THIS BABY!!!

Sometimes I Confess
Happy Sunday!!
I have to say... I wasn't going to do my Sunday confessions today - instead, I was going to do a "sometimes" post, but then I figured out that I could combine the two. Seriously, someone hold me back - my genius-ness is going to get crazy over here.
1. Sometimes I pick wedgies in public. This usually happens at the gym. No shame.
2. Sometimes I avoid people if I think there may be confrontation. I will literally run away from people if I think they're going to confront me about something.
3. Sometimes I can be very confrontational. Usually when my hormones are going crazy (read: PMS) and I've had enough of something (or someone) I flip. And I'm not a very nice person when I flip.
4. Sometimes I dip my french fries in my chocolate milkshake. But only when I remember. It's the perfect blend of sweet and salty. In-N-Out fries and milkshakes are the best for this.
5. Sometimes I wonder where I'll be in ten years. I wonder how many kids we'll have, where we'll be living, what our financial situation will be like... you know, stuff like that. Then I wonder how important all that stuff is. This train of thought usually happens when it's late and I can't sleep.
Anyone else feel the need to confess?

CONFESSIONS!!!!!
Like, OMG!
I'm blogging. And it's not a monthly Elsie update. Look at the sky, because you may or may not see pigs flying.
Anyway... I know that this is the first time in forever that I've done Sunday Confessions, so I'm not even going to bother making it a link up this week.
1. I absolutely love looking at homes. We aren't even really looking to move right now, but we have been going to different homes around town just to get an idea of what we will want when we upgrade to a bigger home. I have absolutely LOVED it. This could be because we are looking primarily at homes built in the early 1900's, and those always have character. So far, this is my favorite:
2. I am constantly analyzing photos that pop up in my news feed. It's bad. I look at them and pick them apart in my head, whether they're professional images or simple snapshots. I guess this is the curse of being a photographer.
3. On that note, it is REALLY hard for me to post my own pictures without tearing them apart first, even if they're snapshots. If it's not taken with my iPhone, I tear it apart, and 9 times out of 10, I won't post it on my personal page if I wouldn't post it on my professional page.
4. I sometimes think that brushing my teeth requires a lot of effort. I always brush, simply because I have to wear my retainer every night, but that doesn't mean I don't grumble about having to do it. HA!
5. I want another baby, but I'm scared that I wouldn't love her/him as much as I love Elsie. I know people would probably tell me that that's ridiculous, but it's true! I worry about these things. So, mama's of two or more... how do you love two kids equally?
What do you have to confess?

1. I lost my lens cap while at a shoot yesterday. Holy oops!!! I proceeded to crawl around on my hands and knees trying to find it. No luck. I promptly drove to Best Buy and bought another. Good thing the next shoot was for a friend who was very understanding and didn't mind moving her shoot back a half hour.
2. I lost my cell phone at the mall on Thursday. I don't know if I set it down somewhere or if it fell out of my pocket, or what. All I know is that if you don't have the "Find My iPhone" app, then you should download it now. Otherwise I would probably not have my trusty little phone right now.
3. I forgot to put the diaper wipes in Elsie's diaper bag the other day. Are we sensing a pattern here? Mommy brain is real, people!! Anyway, I definitely cleaned her butt with a wet paper towel. Ha!
4. I ate seven apples yesterday. They were small, okay?! So freakin' delicious. Om nom nom (and you KNOW I had my JIF).
5. I really need to shower. Like, seriously. I'm disgusting. Five photo shoots in super hot, super humid weather. I am gross, gross, GROSS!!!

1. Right when I thought I was getting back into the blogging groove, I lost it. Yeah... that'd explain why I haven't blogged in forever, right?!
2. I've decided I have the cutest baby in the world. I mean, really. I just can't get enough of her (and I believe that every mommy thinks her baby is the cutest - it's just natural).
3. I'm NOT ready for school to start. I have orientation all this week, and I'm sort of freaking out a little bit. What was I thinking?! Going back to school to get a master's with a 3-month-old? I must be on crack.
4. I finally figured out what my favorite animal is! I've never really known what to say when people ask what my favorite animal is, but after going to the zoo yesterday, I finally decided that I love giraffes. They are the best!
5. My brain is totally not functioning right now. Like, it's a huge pile of mush. Mushy gushy mushy gush mush.
What do you have to confess?
PS: I haven't read more than 5 blog posts in the past two weeks, and I don't think I've commented on any, so if I haven't visited you lately, please don't be offended! My life is a big ole pile of crazy trash right now!!

1. I'm in a funk. A blogging funk. Seriously - I mean, what in the world should I write about? How many times I get poop on my hands on any given day? Or maybe spit up is a more favorable topic? Or how about how I wandered around Sam's Club and Gordman's with a friend today, cherishing the hour without a baby in tow?
2. I still can't handle baby poop. Like, I'm way better than I was a month ago, but I am still NOT able to just brush it off and act like it wasn't a big deal that THERE WAS POOP ON ME!!
3. I am sick of the shred. I get bored doing the same workout day after day. Yes, I changed levels and progressed to level three, but I'm still missing variety.
4. Because of #3, once I'm done with the shred, I'm done with Jillian Michaels for a while. I've loved my results, but I'm gonna go back to good ole Shaun T and try HIS 25 minute a day workout (T25).
5. I obviously have a workout problem. I'm one of those people who will buy/try all the workouts out there. This is a very expensive problem to have.

1. Instead of doing 30 Day Shred last night, I spent a couple hours editing photos. Oops. Here's one of the pictures from yesterday's shoot. If you want to see more, you can visit my Everyday Adventures Photography Facebook page by clicking "Photography" up there... or just by clicking here. And don't worry... I did get a workout in yesterday - I did C25K.
2. I am sick of all of my clothes. I need someone to help me mix up my wardrobe a little and teach me how to dress myself with what I have. I think it's partially because I still don't quite feel comfortable in a lot of my pre-pregnancy clothes, but I am in a rut!
3. I suck at texting. There, I said it. I am an awful texter.
4. I LOVE diet A&W Cream Soda. It's not the healthiest thing to love, but hey - at least it's diet, right?
5. I read 5 books in 3 days this week. This means that my dishes and living room floor got ignored. Sorry I'm not sorry.

5. I read 5 books in 3 days this week. This means that my dishes and living room floor got ignored. Sorry I'm not sorry.

Sunday Confessions... THEY'RE BACK!!!!
Hiiii!!!
I don't know if you've forgotten how this thing works (heck, it's been forever - I may have forgotten!), but here's the deal: take a button, write a post about how you still sleep with a nightlight, and link it up for the world to read.
1. I took the leap. I started a little photography business and I have my first paid shoot tonight. I'm SUPER nervous. Fingers crossed that it goes well!
2. I am sort of freaking out about school starting. How am I supposed to do this with a baby?! I'm not only going to be a full-time grad student - I'll be teaching, too. I don't even know my teaching schedule yet and that's sort of really stressing me out.
3. I sometimes wish I could have a do-over of my wedding reception. I was married before pinterest. Because of this, I didn't really have any inspiration. If I could redo it, it would be freaking awesome. Oh, and it would be nice to actually BE at my reception.
4. I am sick of my hair. I don't remember the last time I actually did something with it - it always just gets thrown into a messy bun.
5. I'm cheating. When it comes to fruits and vegetables, that is. I've been drinking V8 Fusion to get my servings of fruits and veggies. Sorry I'm not sorry.

1. I am probably the most irritable person you will ever meet right about now. I don't know if it's hormones or what, but dude. Don't disturb the beast. Hint: I'm the beast. A very grumpy, sleep-deprived, uncomfortable whale of a beast.
2. I'm out of things to clean. No, really. My living room got vacuumed three times yesterday. My bathroom is the cleanest it's been since we moved in, and our kitchen and bedroom are spotless. I should have worked right up until this baby came, because now I'm just wandering around like a lost puppy looking for things to do!
3. I hate lotion that smells like flowers. It makes me think of 90-year-old ladies, so I cringe to use it, even when I'm desperate and have alligator legs. I'd rather have alligator legs than smell like my great-grandma.
4. I haven't straightened my hair in a month. I haven't done my hair with my bangs in 2 months. I pretty much let myself go around 35 weeks.
5. I have the BEST husband in the world. Seriously - no one could even come close to this dude. He's so hardcore and awesome. And I love him. Oh, and he's a champ for being able to deal with "the beast." That's me, in case you forgot.

1. I'm to the point of trying to force this baby out. Seriously - I'm about to start chugging castor oil like it's nobody's business, because I'm sick of waddling to get from point a to point b. I realize that I could have as long as three weeks left (oh, please, no), but still.
2. I have a stack of thank you notes that haven't been mailed out. So... if you have given me something and have not received a "thank you," it's not because I'm rude - it's because I SUCK at mailing stuff.
3. I hate bras. Who invented these things?!?! Obviously someone who never had to wear one, because they are not comfortable. Not gonna lie, that's the first thing I lose when I walk through the door after a long day at work.
4. I had a total breakdown yesterday, and I couldn't even begin to tell you what it was about. I know there was something in there about picture frames, something about me being a hoarder, then something about "letting myself go" since hitting the third trimester, maybe something about eyebrows, and, of course, probably something about food. I am one hot mess, people.
5. Stretch marks from pregnancy don't only get your boobs and your tummy. I was in for a rude awakening when I looked in the mirror today and realized that, while my boobs and stomach are pretty much in the clear, my butt and the back of my legs right under my butt are definitely not. I have been moisturizing my stomach like crazy since I was super determined not to get any, but it was all in vain, because my legs and bootay more than made up for it. So... if you're pregnant or planning on getting pregnant, moisturize everywhere, not just your belly.

1. I haven't had the chance to look at the confessions from last week. Sorry, guys. I'm a slacker. I'd like to promise that I'll have more time to blog once this little girl decides to get the heck out of my belly, but we all know that that's probably a lie.
2. I am absolutely appalled at what I used to think was "good" photo editing. I found this gem in my "B&A" album on Facebook, and was shocked. Did I delete it? No. I like to see how far I've come.
3. Essential oils are the bomb-diggity. Really, though - they are. Call me a hippy, but why in the world would I put drugs into my system when I have a natural cure right in front of me?
4. I'm ready to give birth. No, really... let's do this thing! Somebody tell this baby that the world is ready for her to be in it!
5. I'm not afraid or nervous. Maybe I'm crazy, but I'm actually excited to give birth. I'm sure it won't be easy, but it's totally doable. It's what my body was made for, right? Hmm. We'll see if I tell Mike, "I'M NEVER DOING THIS AGAIN!!" in the delivery room. I'm sure I will. At least five times. And then I'll hold my cute little alien and say, "LET'S DO THIS AGAIN!" Because I'm totally sane.

I'm sure I've lost most of you, since I have been a HUGE slacker lately when it comes to doing Sunday Confessions.
Anyway, if you are here and want to participate, grab a button, write up some juicy confessions, and share them with the world. If you're not too chicken.
1. I have a baby product giveaway entering problem. One for which I should probably go to rehab. But, in the words of the late Amy Winehouse, "They tried to make me go to rehab but I said 'no, no, no.'"
2. I just found 2 thank you notes in my purse that I *thought* I sent. So... if you're Kristen or Sara, I'm sorry... I'll mail these things ASAP.
3. I can down a small chocolate shake from McDonald's in about 0.03 seconds. I don't know if I should be impressed or disgusted with myself (yes, I'm aware of the amount of calories, sugar, and fat in that crap, and I know it's nasty).
4. I frequently daydream about the clothes I will wear once I've given birth. It's a little pathetic how excited I am to have my closet back.
5. I also dream about working out again. So. Flipping. Excited.

What's that?!?!? An actual blog post?
Pick your jaws up off the floor, grab a button, write up some juicy confessions, and link up.
1. I'm absolutely sick of all the negativity surrounding labor. It has been thrown at me from every direction, and I've had it. Guess what, guys?! I'm not an idiot, I know that a human coming out of my hoo-ha is not going to be the most comfortable feeling in the world. You know what, though? It is natural. It is beautiful. It is what God intended women to do, and I'm pretty sure that, since He wants us to "multiply and replenish the earth," He did not think to Himself, "I'm going to make this as painful and horrible as possible!"
So do me a favor, people with whom I come into contact on a daily basis - do NOT tell me that I can't handle it. Do not tell me that labor is "sooo hard" and "sooo painful" and if I don't get an epidural I will kick and scream and want to die. Okay? Because, NEWS FLASH: women have been giving birth since the dawn of time, and epidurals have only been around for a little while. Am I saying I don't want drugs if I have to have a C-section? Heck, no. I'm not letting someone slice me open without being knocked out first.
What I am saying is this: It is my birth and my choice. Keep your opinions and your negativity to yourself, please and thank you.
2. I've been a bit of a grumpy-pants lately. I don't know if it's because I'm toting around an extra 34 pounds and have to rotate through 5 outfits or because I'm always hungry/tired, but things that normally would have just been mildly annoying make me want to punch babies (not mine, of course).
3. My baby is going to have friggin' Rapunzel hair. Or at least she will if that old wive's tale is true (you know, the one that tells you that a momma with heartburn = a baby with hair), because let me tell ya something - I take 2 Zantac 150s each day and STILL wake up 3-4 times a night in order to pop some TUMS. I've also taken to eating ice cream and milkshakes every night (it helps, seriously) a couple of hours before bed.
4. I'm selfish. Seriously. Soooo selfish. I am so excited for this little girl to make her appearance (mostly because I'll have a few broken ribs if she doesn't get her butt outta my belly pretty soon), but holy balls. I am just not ready to give my life to someone else. I never thought I was that selfish, but now I find myself a little sad when I can't buy something just because I want to, or when I realize that Mike and I can't go on a "babymoon" because, well... we're having a frickin' baby and she's costing us thousands and thousands of dollars. I get a little sad when I realize that, as soon as she's born, it's not all about just Mike and I anymore. Our whole world is about to be flipped upside-down, and I'm just not sure I'm ready for that.
5. I have written enough. No number five because I've already written a novel.

My one and only confession for the week:
I am a craptastic blogger. There, I said it. I think admitting this is the hardest part of recovery. When will I recover? Oh, probably when I'm on maternity leave and am no longer working full time. Then I'll have tales of poopy diapers, baby barf, and cute little baby toes to share with you. And I'll probably overwhelm you all with pictures of my alien baby.
I'll have on mommy goggles, so even if you think my monkey child is weird-looking, I will think she's the cutest thing ever, and I'll take millions of pictures that look exactly the same to prove my undying devotion to her. And then I'll cry about tacos while I'm posting the pictures because I'll be hungry, super tired, and I won't want to cook. And I'm not sure how this post turned into me crying about food (again), but I think now is a good time to end it.

1. Husband and I are addicted to scramble with friends. So... if any of you have it, start a game with me! My username is Alyxgarner.
2. I didn't forget about Sunday Confessions this week!! Okay, so that's not a confession, but it IS pretty amazing, considering the fact that I'd forget my head if it wasn't attached to my shoulders.
3. I broke down and dyed my hair. Please, nobody ask me, "Is that safe when you're pregnant?" I'm not trying to kill my baby. Sheesh.
4. I'm too lazy to put pictures in this post. Last Sunday there was no post. This Sunday there are no pictures. Maybe next week I'll finally get it right.
5. I'm back to doing a little bit of design work. I'd taken a break once I started the full-time job and found out I was pregnant, but just started getting back into the swing of things last week. I'm currently working on Libby's blog, and am taking things one blog/project at a time. My turnaround time is not 2 days like it was back in the days where I didn't have a full-time job, but it's still something I enjoy doing, and if people are okay with waiting a week and half for their designs, then, by golly, I'm okay with doing their designs for them.
