WIWW. Sewing Can't be THAT Hard. Thanks Again.

Linking up here.

shirt: F21 bag: Vintage Coach (FREE from mi madre) shoes: Target belt: Primark watch: Fossil skirt: I MADE IT!
YO!!!!

So. A few things:

1. You are TOTALLY allowed to make fun of me for pictures 2, 3, & 4. Mike made me be all "modely" and they made the skirt look good so they went up. Laugh it up, folks.
2. YES! I made the skirt! And I realize that it looks like material that belongs on the curtains in a child's room, but that's not the point. The point is this: SEWING ISN'T THAT HARD! This skirt literally took me an hour. Is it perfect or professional? Not really, but I don't care, because it's comfy and I like it.
3. I am 6'6" in these shoes. We measured.
4. Said shoes are surprisingly comfy. Seriously. And easy to walk in.
5. Yes, I am standing in a dumpster. The things I do for the blog.
6. Last week I hit 500 followers. You saw the first giveaway here (you can still enter). I want to continue to thank you all by offering you a second giveaway. The rules are the same as last time.

I even knew your shoes were from Target before I looked at your caption. I am a Target-obsessed waste of oxygen.

ALYX!!!!! That is so cute! I love that you made that skirt and it is so cute!!! I actually made a skirt out of an old tshirt the other day, the possibilities are endless ;)

I love the fabric you used for your skirt! And your shoes could not be more perfect!

My oh my Alyx, this shoot was very high-fashionesque, haha. Seriously though, cute outfit and great job on that skirt!

Very cute skirt! I once sewed a pillow and it wasn't a big success...so I never touched a sewing machine again.
And I love the shoes!!

I know I already told you on Instagram, but I LOVE your skirt, Alyx!

bahahahahaha. I'm sorry but those pictures are epic. In my defense, you did give me permission to make fun!

I don't think I'll ever do a What I Wore post cause getting dressed just includes shorts and a shirt...not exactly impressive. I love that skirt! It's really cute!

Skirt turned out great! And I laughed out loud at picture #4. You look like such a fashion model that I just couldn't help myself.

I dated someone once who was 6'7". That is impressively tall. Congratulations on owning shoes that make you almost that tall.

I came to laugh at you, but it turns out all I can think about is how much I like those shoes!!! lovely job on the skirt, by the way - who cares if the seams are crooked or whatever - if someone is that close to you to check then they need to learn something about personal space.

The skirt came out really cute!

Sewing is one of those things that I really want to learn how to do... I'm just chicken on making that initial investment in a machine, especially since I already have one... Only problem is it's at my parents house in a different state!

Okay, if you weren't so cute and hilarious I might just hate you. For real. Adorable pics and good for you for sewing a skirt on your own. I've tried and failed at easier sewing projects.

The skirt, the wedges, the model pose...I love it all! I am so impressed!

UHHHH Kudos to you for standing on that dumpster ledge in those shoes...I would be in a cast right now for SURE if I tried to do that! :) Nice job on the skirt! Sometimes I find myself wishing I had a sewing machine.

Yeah... so pose #4 cracked me up... You look so serious. Love it! The skirt looks AWESOME by the way! The fabric is all Aeropostale looking... I think. I'm not that stylish... but I think. haha.

Unknown said...

BWAHA just realized I wrote Aeropostale and meant to right Anthropologie... SEE! SO not stylish right here!

You are adorable even if you are 6'6 you can still be called adorable. And you are. Wow, so really 1 hour? I keep thinking I want to take up sewing but then somehow I know it won't end well.

Good job on the skirt Alyx! I saw that fabric the other day and almost bought it to make a skirt!! I decided I'm not that good at making skirts so I used some fabric I already had at home.

I love your blog. Congrats on your new skirt. It looks great. I started making clothes last year and totally know how groovy it makes you feel. Can't wait to get to know you better.

Love the shoes!!! Target rocks!

And you rock because you're 6'6" in heels. Seriously, that makes me smile. Just because of your height doesn't mean you should limit your shoe choices!

Anonymous said...

you are such a dork! LOL

Lesley said...

First off, the skirt is AWESOME! The fabric is sweet! Secondly, I'm tall (5'10") and I haven't quite gotten to the point where I feel comfortable rocking really high heels or gigantic wedges, so you are my idol :)
