HI GUYS!!!

Hope you all are doing well! If you want to make this dress, check out this tutorial:
I made it and it seriously only took like, half an hour. Soooo easy, people!

Now for Seven Questions (this time I decided to do Him&Her) with Gentri

1. It's the first day of August- Are you savoring the Summer or ready to jump into Fall?
Her: I'm loving the summer - I don't care if it is miserably hot, I love the sunshine!
Him: (looks at me for a solid 15 seconds with a totally serious, somewhat mocking face) I'm ready to make beautiful snow angels and snowmen.

2. You need a quick and healthy meal, what do you make?
Her: ... ... ... uhhh... Taco bell? Jk, jk. Quesadillas!! Wait, are those healthy?
Him: Oooh (shakes head, talks to the tv... ignores my question). Totino's pizza rolls. Those and deep-fried butter.

3. You're at the mall, how do you shop?
Her: I hate shopping. I don't try anything on, and try to get in and out as fast as possible.
Him: I don't understand the question. Wait, no, no! Better yet, not applicable.

4. Would you rather buy a new house or renovate an old one?
Her: Renovate an old one. Wait... why did we just buy a house? Okay, it's like, 50 years old, and we're doing some work, but when I think old, I think like, turn of the [20th] century home.
Him: Renovate an old one. Wait! How bout build a new house?
5. Long hair or short hair?
Her: Long. Short on a guy... but I like my hair to be long.
Him: Short. Oh, wait. For a woman? Or for me? For a woman, long.

6. Who is your oldest (not by age) friend?
Her: Uh... probably Candace P. I need to call her.
Him: (Snorts) I don't have any friends.... (pouts) You. This is sad. I don't wanna talk about it, can we talk about something else?

7. What is your favorite blog- currently?
Her: Ummmm... I can't pick. Don't make me pick.
Him: (sighs) Ummmmm... Probably tech magazine. JK (smiles like a creep). Yours.

Have a great rest of your day!!

Hi everyone!!

So Mike was all dressed up yesterday for his interview and decided that he needed to showcase his sexiness on my blog. So there you go - the hunk of burning love below is mine, all mine. I'm especially a fan of picture number 4. He's got the booty fo' sho.

Him: suit: dillards shirt&tie: jc penney
Anyway. Now that you've seen a his&hers "fashion" post... I want to keep it going with his&hers questions. Just because I think my husband is awesome and you all need to hear from him every once in a while.
1. What is your favorite Disney Movie?
Her: DON'T MAKE ME CHOOSE!!! I guess if I'm picking my childhood favorite, it's The Little Mermaid. If I have to pick my adult favorite, it's either Wall-e or Tangled.
Him: (grumbles) I hate disney movies. Ummmm Cinderella (smiles sheepishly). No. The Rescuers and The Rescuers Down Under.

2. What technology do you think you will never adopt?
Her: Pajama jeans. I don't care if that doesn't count as technology - it was the first thing that popped into my head. I will also never adopt the "Help, I've fallen and I can't get up" thing.
Him: 3D TV. Unless it becomes available without glasses... and doesn't hurt my eyes.

3. How many pairs of shoes do you have? How many is too many?
Her: Ummmm... a lot? IDK, half of my shoes are still in storage. Is it even possible to have too many shoes? I don't think so.
Him: (counts on his fingers) I think I only have six. For a girl, too many is when the closet is full. For a guy... six. seven. eight. If you have more shoes than days of the week, you're a little metro.

4. Do you believe in life on other planets?
Her: Yes. I mean, look at how many other galaxies and solar systems there are out there - there has got to be life somewhere else in the universe. I find it hard to believe that there wouldn't be.
Him: Yes.

5. Have you ever been in a car accident?
Her: Hahaha, can I plead the fifth here? I think we all know about this one, but my lips are sealed after that.
Him: (laughing) Yes (I think we know which one he's talking about), but I've never been the driver.

6. What is something most people do not know about you?
Her: I have a small tattoo on my right shoulder blade. You know, from that one rebellious stage.
Him: I'm tall. I have every season of Gossip Girl on dvd in my closet. That's obviously not true. Ummm... I don't follow sports like most men, but I enjoy playing them (he's right - I think I follow sports more than he does).

7. What is your favorite book you read as a child?
Her: Black Beauty. I read that book like, 5 times. Ridiculous, I know. OH! And Anne of Green Gables. Loved that one, too. I actually just re-read it for the heck of it.
Him: I think everyone's answer is the same for that, isn't it? Goosebumps. Oh, wait... not that. I don't know. Actually, those are probably the only books I read when I was younger. Ooh, put The Hunger Games. I'm still a kid, right? On a completely different note, tell your readers that I'm accepting tips for my vlog performance

Hey everyone!!

Hope you all are having a fabulous week!! I'm currently ripping my in-laws' bathroom apart so that it can be updated a bit, and let me tell you - I will NEVER  buy a house that has wallpaper up. EVER. It's the WORST to get down, especially when some stupid head has wallpapered the freaking ceiling. I mean, really? WHO DOES THAT?!?! Okay, wallpaper rant over.

So I'm gonna tell you right now - this post is a random, jumbled mess. I feel the need to tell you about that skirt up there. It's actually a dress, I'm just too much of a giant to wear it the proper way. I've also worn it a total of like, 6 times in the past week and a half. So sue me - I'm a repeat offender. Anyway, I won it on Gentri Lee's blog during her birthday giveaways week.

Can I actually rewind to my wallpaper rant? Great, let me tell you some loves and hates for this week, and start there:
I love the feeling that you get after all the hideous wallpaper has been torn down.
I hate the process of tearing said wallpaper down [from the ceiling... wth].

I love that our new house has no wallpaper.
I hate that it smells like old people.

I love the heat and sunshine.
I hate that the 40 mph wind is keeping me from riding my bike.

I love the hilly terrain in Northeast Iowa when I'm out on the 4-wheeler.
I hate the hilly terrain when I'm attempting to ride my bike.

I love looking at furniture for our house.
I hate that we cannot afford any of it, and even if we had extra money, it would be going to student loans.

If you have any loves and hates, you can link them up over at Noël's blog.

Ooh, and now back to Gentri. I love doing the 7 questions every Wednesday - the questions are always so fun!

1. If you could be any princess- which would you be and why?
Ariel, duh! She's a freaking mermaid - do I really have to explain myself? Except instead of marrying Eric the lame-o, I would just stay a mermaid and live under the sea with Sebastian and Flounder forever.
original source (edited by yours truly)

2. Do you have any odd habits? (do things in order, words that you say too often, etc)
I have a routine that I follow when towel-drying, I load the dishwasher a certain way, and I say "Holy balls" far too often.

3. What's your "go to" outfit?
Ummm... jeans and a t-shirt. Or sweats if I'm spending the day at home.

4. Do you have any siblings? What are their genders, ages, order of age, names, etc?
I have three brothers - one older, two younger.

5. What's your favorite precious stone?
Diamonds. But... not just any diamond - my diamond.

6. If you had a check in your hand for 1 million dollars, what would you do with it?
Pay off student loans, buy a car, pay off the house, start college funds for our future children, pay for Mike's school, invest some of it, and put the rest in a savings account. I know, I know - boring answers, but that's what bills do to a person- they make us boring.

7. What do you love most about yourself- physically (eyes, smile, hair, etc. I don't know a good way to word that question...)?
I'm actually pretty dang happy with my physical appearance. I think I like my legs and back best. I also like my height. And now I'm starting to sound like a self-absorbed lady-douche, so I'll shut up and show you the mandatory funny picture to redeem myself.

Hey guys!!

Hope everyone's week is going well! We're still loving being back in the states, but I'm missing Germany a little bit.

Anyway. I finally got myself some colored pants (I actually ordered them in like, March but got them about a week before I got home), and wasn't brave enough to wear them with anything other than a white shirt. So sue me - I'm an uncreative clothes-wearer.

I'm kind of in a blogging rut and really don't have much to say, so I turned to Gentri Lee's 7 Questions for some inspiration.

1. What do you do when you're sick?
I tend to think I get pretty needy when I'm sick. All I want to do is lay around and let someone take care of me.

2. What do you do to find motivation when you feel you've lost it?
Ummmm. That's a really good question. I guess I go on a wild goose chase until I find it.

3. Do you wish time away or do you savor every moment?
I guess it depends on the day and what I'm doing. If I'm working, I'm probably wishing time away.

4. If you could be any mythological creature, what would you be, and why?
Definitely a pegasus. I could fly and gallop. How awesome would that be?

5. What is your current biggest weakness and are you working on fixing it?
My arms. Oh, right. you mean non-physical weakness. I guess I'd have to say that I have trouble setting my pride aside. Ya know, apologizing just to fix things even if something isn't my fault. That's really hard for me.

6. How do you greet someone when meeting them for the first time?
Handshake.

7. How do you grocery shop?
I just... go. Since being in Germany where shopping bags cost at the store, we've gotten in the habit of using our own bags, and I want to try to keep that up (at least till we need trash bags again).

And... the mandatory ridiculous photo:

PS: I've won like, 5,000 giveaways lately, so if I won one on your blog, I promise that a feature is coming, I just have to get my lazy butt up and get pictures of everything.

Hey, speaking of giveaways, remember this one? You have less than a day to enter!

Hi guys!! I'm currently running on zero hours of sleep, so sorry if this post is not the most exciting. :) We've been cleaning and packing constantly for the move back home, and it's a never-ending job.

If you do want a funny read, though, I highly suggest the guest post I did here

Anywho.... You should sign up for Christmas in July (a bloggy gift exchange) if you haven't already. It's going to be awesome - we've got bloggers from literally all over the world participating!!

I will be joining Gentri for her 7 Questions today. Here is my mandatory ridiculous photo:

1. If you were to start your own business, what would it be?
Oh, man. I guess Design. Since I sort of already have a business? Except I don't really call it that, because I haven't made thousands of dollars doing it.
I guess now would be the appropriate time to let you all know that I opened a Storenvy shop. I'll be selling prints, photos, and customizable blog design templates (I don't have any of those up yet, but they'll come eventually). We're in the process of trying to buy a house, and we're both in school, so every little bit helps!

2. You wake up on the wrong side of the bed, do you embrace your grumpiness or try to fight it?
I tend to embrace it, because fighting it just makes me even more grumpy.

3. What's the very first memory you have?
Spending time with my Grandpa when they came to visit us in Germany. I was probably 4 years old.

4. the world is ending, what do you do? Allow yourself to die? Fight? Hide? Etc.
This is kind of a difficult question. I would probably fight, but I wouldn't have a problem with dying.

5. What is your favorite meal of the day?
Lunch

6. How do you best learn? Visual? Listening? Hands on?
I think I'm better with hands on learning... but I like all three at the same time - I remember things better that way.

7. What is your favorite joke?
I'm pretty much an awful person, since my favorite joke has to do with the holocaust (I'm not even going to say it... it's that horrible).
I guess my next favorite joke is the Michael Scott classic:

So... What's your favorite joke? I'm in need of a laugh (or 500) today.

Hiii guys, and Happy Hump Day!!!

Hope you're all doing FABULOUS. The weather has gone cold and rainy, and I'm ready for the sunshine to come back, but at least it's not snowing, right?

Anywho... I've got my answers to Gentri Lee's Seven Questions.

‎7 Questions:

1. Are you a thrift shopper?
Umm.... since being in the land of no thrift stores, not really. If I was back in the states, though, I totally would be.

2. You just had a very bad dream, what do you do?
Freak out. Wake up crying for my mommy. I don't know, is there something that I should do? I'd probably just grab a baseball bat and sleep with it under my pillow (I would grab a knife or a gun, but I don't want to accidentally die in my sleep).

3. What is your favorite flavor of Ice Cream?
I think we all know from thisvlog that I love peanut butter ice cream.

4. What do you do with your money? (spend it, save it, invest it, bury it, etc)
All of the above. I'm actually considering being a pirate and making a treasure map for my will so that I can send my kids on a crazy treasure hunt. You know, just to see how smart they actually are.

5. What was the last quote or statement you heard that really hit you?
"The race we are really in is the race against sin, and surely envy is one of the most universal of those."

--Jeffrey R. Holland.
Seriously. Envy is so easy. I think it's something that I do without even realizing it, so this hit me.

6. What do you do when you're driving alone? (ex: dance, sing, listen to talk radio, etc)
Dance. Sing. Talk to myself. Scream at other drivers.

7. Did you watch the premier of Bachelorette? If so, who was your favorite bachelor?

I don't watch that show... does that make me an outcast

WIWW, Chicken Legs, & 7 Questions

FROM YESTERDAY'S POST: #3 WAS THE LIE!! Yes, I DID give a praying mantis a bath (hard to believe, because I would never think of touching a bug... I'm terrified of them), and I DID run around the playground as a child telling people to "Suck IT!!" While I did shoot spit-wads at people in elementary school, I never got detention for it, and I never got any in anyone's hair. We mostly just shot them at the ceiling.
Thanks for playing!!

I used to get called chicken legs in elementary school. I hated it. Looking at these pictures, though... I see it. And you know what?! I'm okay with it.

In case you were wondering... Yes. I did just roll out of my bed and put this outfit on. Okay, I brushed my teeth, washed my face, and tweezed my eyebrows. But no - I didn't touch my hair. I thought I'd rock the bed-head look today.

Anyway. Time for Seven Questions with Gentri.

1. You just invented the next big thing! What is it called and what does it do?
Ummm, pretty sure I invented both the shower radio and the tankini (in my mind) when I was like, 5. So obviously I'm really awesome at inventing great things.
radio        tankini
The next big thing is going to be a Farfanoogin, and it is going to do my hair for me, because I'm a failure at doing hair (as my bed-head in the above photos conveys).

2. Are you a lover or a fighter?

Guys. I have to tell you something - when I am passionate about something, it gets messy. I am very opinionated, and I will let you know. I try not to start confrontation, but if it is started with me... I stand up for myself and fight back.

3. It's almost mothers day- if you could tell your mom anything, what would it be?
I can tell my mom anything. Mom, are you reading?!?! I love you SO much, and I am so grateful for everything you've done for me. You are the strongest, most amazing woman I know, and I am the luckiest person alive because I can call you MOMMA!!
4. Do you like your hair curly, wavy, or straight?
Whatever way I don't have to mess with it. Usually, that's up in a bun, but if I HAVE to wear it down, I like it wavy or curly.

5. If it was your last day to live, what would you do?
Spend time with my loved ones, reminiscing, telling them how much I love them, making sure my will was ready, stuff like that.

6. What color are your eyes? Do you like the color?
My eyes are awesome. They change color depending on my mood. Husband thinks they're the most beautiful when I'm sad or have cried (they're a deep turquoise color then), but I just think it's cool that they change.

7. Fish, beef, poultry, wild game, or tofu?
BEEF. It's what's for dinner. You didn't really expect a different answer, did you? Midwestern girl right here!

And now for the mandatory funny picture:
Did you guys get called any ridiculous names in elementary school? Have you come to terms with those things, or is it still something that you struggle with? Sorry if that's a little deep or personal - you don't have to answer if you don't want to!
