I'm Leaving, on a Jet Plane...

Guys. This is it. The day that I've been dreading/anticipating for the last 10 months. I'm currently on a plane on my way back to the good old USofA.

I'm guest posting here and here today. Check em out, yo.

I couldn't miss out on playing Two Truths and a Lie with Alana, though, so here we go:

1. I once got my punctuation (think about it - thanks, Miki, for the genius way of putting it) while on a road trip, and left the results all over a girl's brand new tan front seat.
via
2. I used to play the flute, the oboe, and the piano.
via
3. I have only ever broken one bone, and it was when I was jumping off the deck of my parents' house onto our trampoline.
So... which one is the lie??? Check back tomorrow.

Anywho. While I'm eating crappy in-flight food and watching not-so crappy in-flight TV, I have an awesome little post for you guys to read. Lurve you, and hopefully you'll hear from me tomorrow!! :)
**********************************************************************************************

on my california trip last year we stopped at balboa island. after walking around for a while we stopped and ate some taffy. while sitting there this odd bird came in front of us and i exclaimed to beans. "beans! we really need to take a picture with this bird!" she replied with, "no... that bird is creepy!" after a few back-and-forth comments i think i finally convinced her by saying something along the lines of "jill... (you know i mean business when i use her real name) this is a life or death situation. when else are you ever going to see this bird and take a picture! it needs to happen!"

after sitting down and fake pushing her in the water it was time to take the picture. trab, naturally, was chosen to be the photographer. we were facing the sun so it was hard to keep our eyes open. i gave jill my hat and said to trab, "ok on the count of three i will open my eyes and then you will take it"

one... two... three!

i would say it was a success.

WIWW, Chicken Legs, & 7 Questions

FROM YESTERDAY'S POST: #3 WAS THE LIE!! Yes, I DID give a praying mantis a bath (hard to believe, because I would never think of touching a bug... I'm terrified of them), and I DID run around the playground as a child telling people to "Suck IT!!" While I did shoot spit-wads at people in elementary school, I never got detention for it, and I never got any in anyone's hair. We mostly just shot them at the ceiling.
Thanks for playing!!

Linking up here for What I Wore Wednesday.
shirt, skirt: F21 watch: Fossil shoes: TOMS
I used to get called chicken legs in elementary school. I hated it. Looking at these pictures, though... I see it. And you know what?! I'm okay with it.

In case you were wondering... Yes. I did just roll out of my bed and put this outfit on. Okay, I brushed my teeth, washed my face, and tweezed my eyebrows. But no - I didn't touch my hair. I thought I'd rock the bed-head look today.

Anyway. Time for Seven Questions with Gentri.

1. You just invented the next big thing! What is it called and what does it do?
Ummm, pretty sure I invented both the shower radio and the tankini (in my mind) when I was like, 5. So obviously I'm really awesome at inventing great things.
radio        tankini
The next big thing is going to be a Farfanoogin, and it is going to do my hair for me, because I'm a failure at doing hair (as my bed-head in the above photos conveys).

2. Are you a lover or a fighter?

Guys. I have to tell you something - when I am passionate about something, it gets messy. I am very opinionated, and I will let you know. I try not to start confrontation, but if it is started with me... I stand up for myself and fight back.

3. It's almost mothers day- if you could tell your mom anything, what would it be?
I can tell my mom anything. Mom, are you reading?!?! I love you SO much, and I am so grateful for everything you've done for me. You are the strongest, most amazing woman I know, and I am the luckiest person alive because I can call you MOMMA!!
4. Do you like your hair curly, wavy, or straight?
Whatever way I don't have to mess with it. Usually, that's up in a bun, but if I HAVE to wear it down, I like it wavy or curly.

5. If it was your last day to live, what would you do?
Spend time with my loved ones, reminiscing, telling them how much I love them, making sure my will was ready, stuff like that.

6. What color are your eyes? Do you like the color?
My eyes are awesome. They change color depending on my mood. Husband thinks they're the most beautiful when I'm sad or have cried (they're a deep turquoise color then), but I just think it's cool that they change.

7. Fish, beef, poultry, wild game, or tofu?
BEEF. It's what's for dinner. You didn't really expect a different answer, did you? Midwestern girl right here!

And now for the mandatory funny picture:
Did you guys get called any ridiculous names in elementary school? Have you come to terms with those things, or is it still something that you struggle with? Sorry if that's a little deep or personal - you don't have to answer if you don't want to!

Truths. Lies. Castles.

Hey there, hi there, ho there!

So today my bloggy friend Alana is having a 2 Truths and a Lie link-up party, and I thought it sounded like fun, so I'm joining in on this little game! So. Below I've written two things that are true and one thing that is totally not true at all, and I want you guys to see if you can guess which one is a lie!

- When I was little, I used to run around the playground gesturing to my lady parts yelling, "SUCK IT," not understanding what this phrase actually meant.
- Back in my partying days, I once stole a friend's praying mantis and gave it a bubble bath, claiming that it was dirty, and accidentally drowned it.
- When I was in elementary school, I got detention because I was blowing spit-wads at the chalkboard and accidentally got some in a girl's hair.
So. Cast your vote here, and come back tomorrow to see if you were right!

Moving on. So... I mentioned last week that I went to Heidelberg for a blate, and I thought I'd share some pictures! Unfortunately, I don't have any of Bailey and I together, but oohhhh well.

All of these pictures were taken on the castle grounds at the Heidelberg Schloss.
That's pretty much it. You should all probably head on over to Alana's blog to play Two Truths and a Lie, too!!
