Pretty Things.

Hola!
I thought that this was an appropriate greeting since I'm going to share some of Spain with you all today!

We did a lot of hiking while we were in Ibiza, and I thought I'd let the pictures speak for themselves! I don't really know exactly where we hiked, but I can tell you that that island has some of the most breathtaking views I have ever seen in my life (and I feel like I've been a lot of places and seen a lot of things).

So. Without further ado, I give to you some of my favorite photos from our second day on the island (I would give you photos from other days of hiking... but that would be exactly one bajillion photos, and I just don't think you could handle that right now).
This is one of ten pirate watch towers along the coast, built between the 16th and 18th centuries.
These caves were so cool! It was awesome to listen to the waves crashing through them, even though the water looks so calm!
The water was beautiful. It really was that blue. Can you believe it?
I loved this shell!
I think these are torn swim trunks - IDK, I just thought it was a cool photo.
This is actually the only photo I edited, and I love the way it turned out.
You can tell how far we went from where we started, and this was only our halfway point!

Anyway... I decided to sort of split up trip posts, that way you aren't totally overloaded.

OH!! My new nickname is "The Sheep-Whisperer." I have a video that explains it all, I just need to condense it. It's pretty awesome, you won't want to miss it. ;)

AND!! I have a question for you guys - lots of people made fun of Husband and I, telling us that vacations are for relaxing. What do you guys think? Do you get out and enjoy the sites, hiking, and all that, or do you spend your time shopping and chilling out

hell no vacations dont need to be about relaxing! it just needs to be about channeling whatever makes you feel at peace inside.

people in norway constantly tell me vacations are for sun and laying on a beach 15 hours a day. i tell them that im sorry, my vacations are not about wasting away 15 hours of my day developing skin cancer. i grew up in the sun and near beaches, i certainly dont need to travel to waste time laying on sand all day ;) relaxation for me happens when im exploring, hiking, and discovering new places, food, people, and culture :)

I can't wait to see the sheep-wisperer video. :)

And yeah, I can only agree. I don't want to spend the whole day on the beach. There are so many fantastic things to discover. I definitely don't want to miss that. I mean, maybe I would spend a couple of hours at the beach but the whole vacation? No, thank you!

I'm curious about the sheep whisperer...And I really love that picture of the cave! Vacations are not that fun if you don't explore as much as you can! :)

Love the pics! & yeah, I'm definitely a get-out-there-and-see-as-many-things-possible kinda traveler, but it's been a personal goal of mine to learn how to relax a little but more when I go somewhere because I come back feeling completely exhausted!!

Say what? Why would you go somewhere with awesome stuff to do and not do anything? We are definitely more of the adventuring vacation types! That doesn't mean we've never relaxed on vacation, but we typically choose to do something outdoorsy and fun!

Things we've done on vacation: Canyoning, white water rafting, hiking, boating, snorkeling (Anthony's gone scuba diving), renting mopeds, go-carts, riding camels, etc.

I appreciate a day or so laying on the beach sometimes, but really like to go DO stuff!

I love all the pictures of the water...they are absolutely beautiful!

I think vacations should be a mix of relaxing and site seeing. I love to visit museums, parks, and historical sites when I"m on vacation...but I also want to spend plenty of time laying on the beach.

According to Andrew's family, vacation means reading a book in the hotel room while in Hawaii! My family gets out and sees the sights (we don't hike) but we do get out and drive around and go out places so I think you and Mike know how to vacay ;)

Love the pictures!

And whoever laughed at y'all is totally weird. Vacations are for doing things you love and being with people who make you happy! That can be relaxing, hiking, exploring, napping, whatevs!

Vacations are for doing things you love! I personally like to split it up between relaxing/shopping and doing stuff. The last day is always for relaxing though. Love your pictures!

my husband would die if we spent a vacation just sitting around on a beach - we hike and such...although i do require that the first day be one hundred percent relaxing and no physical activity :)

Alyx! Those pictures are breath-taking! I can't believe how blue that water is! And I love the torn swim trunks photo.

If I wanted to go shopping and relax, I'd stay home and save the money. Vacations are for adventures and exploring!

Vacations are for whatever you want! Personally, I'm all about going places to soak in the culture, walk, hike, shop, drink and eat! I get bored on beaches, and live a 10 minute walk from one, so I figure if I can hit a beach any weekend, I may as well go somewhere interesting and historical when I vacation.

Gorgeous!!! I say vacations are for whatever floats your boat! I like to do nothing...but I like to do nothing ALL the time. HA :) BUT if I were in a place like Spain...I would be doing some hiking. Fo sho.

So beautiful! I like to get a mix of both on vacations...see some sights, but also do some relaxing. In the end, it's personal preference! I do think it's important to experience the things the world has to offer and not just be a consumer on vacation ;)

The place you visited looks so beautiful! Like something out of a fantasy book. I can totally picture pirates being there in the 16th century.

I can't sit still during vacations. I have to go around and explore the place, whether it being hiking or going to a museum.

I like days of exploring and activity, as well as a day here and there with sleeping in and heavy eating :)

I love going full force on vacations and hiking and seeing things. For me, vacations are about taking a breather from the norm and doing something exciting and fun!

wow! I love this place - it looks beautiful! Reminds me of Tahoe in California. Love the one of the shell :) See you around TID AND BITS :)

What a beautiful place!!! :) So, vacations are for WHAT YOU WANT THEM TO BE! If you wanna hike and see the sites, do it! If you wanna lounge about... do it! I can say though if I was in Spain, I wouldn't waste it lounging about! I'd want to see as much as I could while I was there! Hotel lounging is for somewhere closer to home that you've already seen.

Kell said...

I'd definitely be going out seeing the sites/sights and getting the most out of it! Who says it isn't a vacation if you aren't being lazy? Psh.

Wow this seems like a really amazing place. Such beautiful photographs <3

Love from the NaNa girls xoxo

Ugh take me there!

I NEVER relax on vacations. Vacations, particularly European ones, are probably the most exhausting thing ever. Wake up early, see the sights, climb a tower, hill, something, go-go-go at night and wake up and do it all over again. How can you relax when there's so much to see and experience!?

kendra @ little almanac said...

Wow, so jealous of your adventure! My husband and I are all about touring on vacas as well. I'm not about to pay money to relax when I can do that in my own bed!
