On German Cereal & WIWW.

Linking up here.

shirt, cami, leggings: WalMart sandals: Target

Hey guys!!

Normally... leggings are not pants. Actually... always. But yesterday I sort of made an exception. Mostly because I was wearing a tunic-type shirt that covered my butt. Oh, and the fact that I didn't leave the house probably helped me to be a little more okay with this look.

And... I'm not a huge fashionista or anything, but I did a super fast tutorial on the braided top knot, and you can see it below. It's pretty much perfect for lazy butts like myself.

In other news... I have a formal complaint that I would like to launch against The Land of Lederhosen.
Their cereal tastes like cardboard.

I'm not talking about the Muesli - that stuff is delicious, and I don't think that anyone can beat Germany in the MĆ¼sli department... Especially when it comes to the chocolate kind.

Anyway. About a week ago, I decided that I really missed American cereal, and went to the grocery store to see what I could find. Kellog's cereal was about 5 EUR a box, and I refused to pay that much for a box of cereal. Then... something caught my eye. A bag of wannabe fruit loops. I was desperate, so I decided to grab them.
via
BIG MISTAKE. I got home, so excited to eat those puppies. Grabbed a bowl out of the cupboard, filled it to the brim with the cereal, and poured the milk over it. I took a spoon out of the drawer and started stuffing my face. Immediately, I ran to the sink and spit everything out. I checked the bowl to make sure I hadn't accidentally somehow poured paper into my bowl... Nope. This crap was supposed to pass for a breakfast food? WHO ARE THEY KIDDING???

I mean, honestly. This is the same country that eats Nutella, schnitzel, spaghetti eis, and bratwurst. HOW COULD THEY POSSIBLY THINK THAT THIS CEREAL TASTES GOOD??? Ugh.

Moral of the story: Super processed/sugary/bad for you breakfast is easier to find, cheaper, and more delicious in the states. Soon enough, I will resume my 24/7 cereal habits, and I am super happy about that. Maybe a little too happy, considering the fact that I don't have dental insurance.

You are so cute! I mean that in a total, non-fluffy bunny way too. You remind me of Anna Kendrick in these photos and I love the outfit. It's simple and casual but still looks good.

way to go with that hair! also, i've never been a fan of sugary cereal in general so i haven't tried it here - but their chocholate muesli is goooooood.

lol! omg leggings are never pants UNLESS your shirt covers your butt. i basically made this rule up when i was in europe last summer because i didn't want to be wearing jeans all the time, also i was in a coach for like 7 hours a day. lame! anyways, the point is your totally acceptable with that outfit and i feel like we've reached the point in our blogfriendship where i can be brutally honest with you! hope we're on the same page there! hahaha.

also, im the worst! i totally forgot to mention how IN LOVE with the new layout i am!! you are awesome! my goal this summer is to get good a designing stuff .. oh, and maybe coding is important too. oh, and maybe i need photoshop too...babbyyy steps!!

&&& i HATE it when i'm traveling and i have a breakdown where im like, i NEED american food, and then i get it and it.is.gross. case in point (case and point?) the ketchup situation in costa rica. NOT OKAY. also, mountain dew in central america (i no longer drink mountain dew, but at the time i was ADDICTED!)

ok, now that ive written you a novel, have a great day! :)

Yeah yeah the cereal selection sucks - I've found Smacks to be satisfying enough. I jack them from the other 2 year old who comes over for play dates and brings a butt load. I've gotten past the cereal thing, but what I can't get past is the UNREFRIGERATED milk. Oh no no no.

I fully agree with your leggings rule. And I Like the fact that you disclose you haven't washed your hair in 3 days. Really, you're just knocking it out of the park on here today :)

Love your hair, Alyx! And your outfit looks so cute. Leggins are not pants, I totally agree. But it's fine when it covers your butt. :)
I don't like cereal at all so I only eat Muesli. :)

LOVE these photos!!! Your processing style totally ROCKS!! :) And I love the topknot. I recently chopped all my hair off so my hair style options are pretty much nill but I would grow my hair out again to do that style!

So gonna try that updo!! I'm always looking for easy stuff to do with my massive amounts of hair. lol
Also, I could LIVE on cereal. So glad you'll be reunited with good cereal soon : )

I feel your pain. When I lived in the UK, their cereals were sadly lacking and it was so disturbing. I went through Cap'n Crunch withdrawl for weeks.

I feel for you. A life without breakfast cereal is almost no life at all.

Cute hair style!

Yet another thing we take for granted I suppose ;) And thank you for clarifying about the leggings haha!

Well I'll go against the grain here and say I very frequently wear leggings with pants.... always with a long shirt though. I live in hippie Victoria though so this type of clothing is deemed acceptable by the masses. You wear the look well! Love the top knot.~Stephanie

Based on the picture those leggings look thick enough to be okay as pants in public. I think you'd be fine going out in them. The shirt and shoes are super cute too!

hey alyx, thank you so much for making that tutorial! as soon as i saw your braided top knot, my fingers were poised to shoot you an email asking you how, but you had already taken care of it :) (is it weird that i felt a surge of pride when you said your haven't washed your hair since monday?)

also, that last part of your post made me laugh - maybe a little too happy considering you don't have dental insurance...lol. just be sure to brush and floss like a mofo.

I would give up super sugary cereal for Europe ANY DAY.

P.S. Your bun. Adorable. And it's refreshing to find a sister soul that agrees that leggings are, in fact, not pants. I went to an all-women's college and EVERYONE tried to pass them off as pants. No. Just no.

I am really diggin your hair. That braid is just too cute. I just stumbled on your blog and I think It's great! New reader :)

I don't even OWN leggings! But that outfits looks really stylish on you! Maybe cause you have those mile long model legs... ;)

When you get to the states it'll be so easy for you to buy all your sugar-filled cereals that taste farrrrr from cardboard.
I love your blog re-design by the way!!

i've got to do something different with my hair... thanks for the idea!

and what a bummer about the cereal. i've been on a huge cereal kick lately. i like crispix, or special k with fruit on top the best... but sometimes you do need the sugar fix.

I feel like I could live in leggings. So serious. Love the top knot bun!!

twiggy@thedirtlife said...

there you are, with your amazing chicken legs again....

i actually really like the leggings as pants in this scenario. i typically feel super uncomfortable unless it covers my boo-TAY too.

i get it...i totally get it.

Um.. your hair! I die. It's perfect. And I'd die without my super sugary breakfast cereal.

Hi Everyone,
I'm from United Kingdom London, City(GB). I met this spell caster called Dr IyaryI of driayaryi2012@hotmail.com online and so many other, but i decided to go with this particular spell caster and this is about 2 weeks ago.I needed the spell caster to reunite me and my lover because she started behaving strange and a day came she text me and told me she cannot continue with the relationship anymore, that she just want to be alone. But a close friend of hers shows the guy to me that she was now dating. So i contacted this spell caster because i was totally heart broken and i smoked and get drunk till i could not even notice if am standing or lying. This spell caster told me not to worry, he gave me hope that am to have her again just like old times, and i provided all the requirements, and in just 5 days, my ex lover called me crying over the phone asking for me to forgive her for her stupid act, and she swore with her mother grave to love me and never hurt me again. This was what the spell caster earlier told me and it came after he has done the spell and that same night, my lover came back to the house to me. I have never seen spell as powerful as this but now, am convinced that Dr IyaryI is the best ever, You can contact him through him email address: driayaryi2012@hotmail.com or driayaryi2012@hotmail.com or And also Reach him on WhatsApp Number: +2349057915709 Thanks Dr. IyaryI
