Favorite Things Friday
Top of the marnin' to ya! Yeah... I just said that out loud, and my Irish accent sounds way better in my head. I hope you'll settle for a picture of a leprechaun, and imagine that he's saying it to you. As I'm sure you know... it's Friday, and time for my favorite things from this week.
1. Eyebrows. You may or may not know this, but I have a mild obsession with good brows. I know, I'm a freak. But ya know what? You cannot look at this chic's eyebrows and seriously tell me that they're not amazing. On that note, you wanna know what blogger's brows I totally envy? McKenzie's. 2. Replying to your comments. Yes, I love when you comment, but I love it even more when I can reply to your comments! You know what, though?! HALF OF YOU ARE NO-REPLY BLOGGERS!!! Please check that, and fix it pronto. It's easy. All you have to do is this:3. Cupcakes and Donuts. Seriously. I have been wanting both of the above for a little over a week now, and it's driving me insane. Anyone want to come visit me and bring some with you??via4. Spaghetti... made with my new secret recipe. Dude. Seriously. I figured out how to take spaghetti from an "eh, it's okay" meal to a "HOLY CRAP GIVE ME MORE" meal. Want to know how? Sorry, I'm not ready to give out my secrets just yet. I have to keep you guys coming back.
5. Snowy days. You know what, guys?! Snow is magical. Seriously. I had like, at least 5 reasons to have a crap-tastic day today, but every time I looked out the window and saw the first snowfall of this winter... I was just fine with ignoring all the devil children, douchebags, lateness, unpreparedness, and craziness. All I cared about was the pretty snow, and can I just tell you how much Germany looks like it's right out of a fairy tale when those huge flakes are falling on the narrow cobblestone streets lined with houses that are hundreds of years old? Just amazing. I wished I had my DSLR with me. PS: Thanks for all of your nice comments yesterday. You sure know how to make a girl feel loved! :)

I didn't know how to add the reply function but thanks for showing me! The snow looks really pretty too :)
So. Jealous. I would totally bring you donuts and cupcakes, they're the best. I've been obsessed with cakes lately for some reason! And I'm jealous of your snow. It's definitely in the 80s almost here. :(
Beautiful snow! I heart snow lots and lots. Chocolate cake donuts are my favorite and if you don't believe me, just ask my thighs. HA! :)
I thought I was the only weirdo who was a sucker for good brows!! I'm glad I'm not :) I love the last picture, so pretty!
I love good eyebrows also! That girl is so pretty.
First, do you know what's supposed to follow 'Top of the mornin' to ya?' I do!! :o) If someone says that to you, you're supposed to respond...'And the rest of the day to you!' :o)
Second, I'll take that girls eyebrows, and her hair, and her skin. Ummm perfection.
Third, I feel even worse now for not having a donut recipe on my blog today. ;o)
Oh my goodness - this snowy picture is making me cry! I want to go to there so badly! Where is this beautiful town?
Just discovered your blog and it looks like a lot of fun!
Wait - so if I allow my e-mail to be shown - does it allow the whole internet world to see? Or just you as the administrator of you blog? Because I certainly do want to be replied to!
And please post that spaghetti recipe soon - can't get enough of good spaghetti recipes. I just discovered this one http://bit.ly/yIz8vv and have cooked it 4 times in as many weeks! The best part is it can be prepared in the amount of time it takes to cook your pasta. I like to put a fresh sprinkling of nutmeg on top too!
@Marisa - If you allow your email to be shown on your profile, it will allow anyone whose blog you comment on to see it, and also anyone who looks at your profile page.
I've had my email address visible, and have actually never gotten spam, so I think you'll be okay if that's what you're worried about.
Also, I'm not sure if you blog or not, but if you do, your blog isn't visible on your profile, either, so I couldn't find you to reply to your comment!
And I think I will post the recipe soon, I just have to make it absolutely perfect. :)
Oh, and the town is called Nidda. It's actually kind of in the middle of nowhere, relatively close to Giessen.
I know you are not that happy at the place located in the middle of nowhere but you are so right: looking at how beautiful it is makes it worth it. That's why it's so important that even in the worse of the circumstances we find the good in it (like when they talk about the half full glass).
By the way I owe if there is anything cute in my face to my eyebrows..seriously good eyebrows make the most of a difference!
I'm all about eyebrows. A nice brow makes all the difference!
And I used to be a no-reply blogger until a blogger friend of mine harassed me to fix that and I'm so glad I did, it makes life so much easier :-)
Bon weekend from next door in France!
Lol loved this. Your too funny. I'm so with you on eyebrows! To me it doesn't matter if you have too much makeup on or you look a mess. It's the eyebrows that always catch my attention. P.S. You can creep and respond to my posts all you want ;)
Wait a second...y'all don't have donuts and cupcakes over there?! No way!
Alyx - thank you so much for responding so quickly!! I do think I will have to think a bit though about posting my e-mail. It is encouraging to hear you haven't had any issues but I still feel just a bit funny about it!
As for blogging - I haven't jumped into that just yet! I am just an ardent reader of other people's generous efforts - such as your own :)
Nidda looks perfectly lovely - you are lucky indeed to be living there. In December I visited my aunt and uncle who live in Bavaria and I just can't get Germany off my mind!
Oh - and please do post that recipe soon! It is sure to be fabulous!
aww you're so sweet!!!
I definitely got my dad's eyebrows....and I used to not like them!
@Marisa
Oooh, haha, I guess I just assume that everyone who reads blogs writes them, too! I'm ridiculous.
It is a lovely little town, my only complaint is that it's pretty darn close to the middle of nowhere, and that makes getting around hard! Bavaria is sooo gorgeous - I just love it there. I think I like it a little more than here because of the mountains. I do not, however, like the accents that they have - it's like they're speaking a foreign language (well, obviously they are because they're speaking German, but as someone who also speaks German, it's like a foreign language to me because their accents are so thick)!
I think I'll probably post the recipe sometime next week! :)
I totally love Bavaria too! And I know what you mean about the accents. My uncle speaks immaculate German and even he has difficulty understanding some Bavarians. Apparently they have their own dialect too called Bairisch and many only speak it so that further complicates matters! Will be checking back for that recipe! Thanks for being so friendly and making me feel welcome here right off the bat :D
I have not had a single snowy day here :( we had a couple flakes here today but it was just a tease. And THANK YOU for telling me about that reply setting. I noticed that new feature but then could never reply to people and did not know why!
I can't figure out how to Change my settings to make it a reply blogger... HELP ME!!
Yeah, I've learned that every region has their own dialect. Up here it's called "oberhessisch," and it is also ridiculously hard to understand!
And you are welcome! Thanks for taking the time to read my blog and comment! :)
Boooo.
If it makes you feel any better, it meted within a few hours.
I sent you an email! :)
