That One Time...

Hey guys!!

I hope everyone is doing well! I'm so ready for the weekend to be here, it's not even funny. Hey, speaking of fun and funny, I was just thinking that it would be fun to tell you about that one time.
I got flipped off for brake-checking a girl who was tailgating me, speeding, and talking on her cell phone in rush hour traffic.

I locked myself in the bathroom and no one could get me out for a good two hours. I was six.
I puked in the Home Depot parking lot after a hard swim practice. High school Alyx was mortified, even though no one saw.

I wore khakis to school and got my lady times, then wore a lost and found sweatshirt around my waist for the rest of the day to hide the evidence.

I won a pizza-eating contest against a bunch of 14-year-old boys.

I won a pie-eating contest at the pool. I was eleven.

I bawled over cupcakes. No, not the breakdown in Germany, but the time I dropped a box of cupcakes on the ground and they landed frosting-side down. They were for my kids at church. I'm ashamed to admit that I've cried over cupcakes more than once.

I walked into the wrong apartment in the middle of the night. This resulted in a very scared and confused Asian man pushing me out of his apartment while yelling indecipherable words. If you want to know more... I'll dedicate a vlog to this story. Just because it's that good.

I had my third successful day of working out and made sure to get photo evidence.
I ran over a turtle that was crossing the freeway and earned the nickname "Turtle Killer." I was devastated. I was in driver's ed, and yes, my teacher came up with that winning nickname.

I cried like a baby because Mike walked by and scared the crap out of me. No, he wasn't trying [this time].

And that's all I've got.

Except not really. I just remembered that I have to tell you some really exciting news. I'm going to be co-hosting the vlog linkup with a bunch of awesome ladies who I am too lazy to name. BUT. We will be talking about one of my favorite topics - shoes. The What's on Your Feet vlog linkup will be live in one week (August 15th), so mark your calendars!!
Hope Squared
Happy Thursday!!!

haha! Maybe we should have a contest sometime? I won an ice cream eating contest. While the kids around me were getting sick, my mom kept saying "come on, you can do it" know what I won? 21 free ice cream sundaes from the place. To this day, I do not eat vanilla ice cream.

Jarrod was waiting in the bathroom with a towel while I was in the shower and when I saw him it scared me so bad I started crying. He thought I had heard the door.

Wasted cupcakes is definitely worth crying over. In fact, I think I shed a few tears myself just reading that.

How about that one time (yesterday) when someone parked like CRAP next to my car so I could barely get out... so I left a little note on their car?

Lol all that paying it forward I did the other day just went down the tubes!

And I so would have cried over those cupcakes too, that's cupcake abuse!

That one time I was skimming through my reader and found this post... I laughed so hard!
I don't usually have problems with tailgaters, but people who cut me off drive me crazy!

Sounds like lots of tears going on that one time... Boo! Mike's face is cracking me up in that pic... Your face is totally understandable though..... heehee

Lol Alyx, you are so funny. Crying over cupcakes is much more reasonable than crying over a bag of carrots so there's the upside. Also, your drivers training teacher sounded like a really great person.. NOT.

Ok, well I just can't wait to hear that story about you walking into the wrong apartment! Any story involving a screaming Asian man sounds like a doozy :)

Also, good job on day 3 or self-torture...uh...working out!

Kelly said...

Wow! apparently you can eat like a champ! But puking in the parking lot must have sucked... I would have been mortified too. And nice job on 3 days of working out in a row!

How about the time I chased a baby crab around for 2 days.. I once ran over a raccoon :(

You know that's my favorite link-up of all of the link-ups, right??? Remember when I've told you more than once that you're a big deal to me? Yeah. Bigger deal.

I need to start getting photo evidence of my working out.

I love your "one times", and how you have more than one car story, and more than one food story.

All of these made me laugh! I remember having to tie a sweatshirt around my waist a time or two back in the day. I always felt so awkward...and gross

Unknown said...

Oh I definitely want to hear more about this story of you walking into the wrong apartment. Please share. :)

um would LOVE for you to vlog about this asian man you startled.

and i think one of my biggest fears is getting locked in a bathroom. the doors that you can crawl under freak me out - is it weird i think about these things everytime i pee? which is a lot, btw

Sara Louise said...

I locked myself in a bathroom once... except I wasn't six, I was about 22 and at a New Years Eve party. Do you have any idea how hard it is to get people to hear you banging on the inside of a bathroom door at a New Year's Eve party?! It felt like I was in there FOREVER.
