Favorite Things Friday

FINALLY. HALLELUJAH!

It's Friday, beaches. Hahaha, sorry guys. You aren't sandy beaches. I love you all. I'm just a little bit too excited for Friday. It's pathetic, really.

Anyway. Moving on like Donkey Kong. Or something like that. Time for my favorite things this week.

1. Food Day. Yep, part of the reason I sound like I'm on crack right now is because I'm wildly anticipating the smorgasbord at work. It's food day, and I'm ready. Be jealous that you don't get any of the crock pot spinach and artichoke dip that I'm making.
2. This commercial. Am I the only one that thinks it's the best thing ever? Because it is.
3. My new shoes! I'd been wanting these shoes for a while, but couldn't justify spending the money. Then I went to Target, and what do you know?! They were on clearance for $7.50! And that's how you win the game of life.
4. My cat's new bed. I woke up this morning, walked into the bathroom, turned on the light, and was greeted by a kitty in the sink. He's found a place to call home.
5. Free money. Too bad I can't win it. But you can - $50 straight to your Paypal account, courtesy of this beautiful lady.

And... a special shout out to my little brother - today is his 19th birthday!!!
Happy Birthday, Ryan! We love you!!
PS - All you ladies in UT, he's tall, dark and handsome! HA!

Oh, Hi Neighbor. WIWW. Hooker Shoes on a Sunday. Sometimes I Crawl.

Linking up here.
shirt: old navy skirt, belt: f21 shoes: charlotte russe
Once upon a time, I went to take pictures in my backyard. It was totally normal (as normal as taking outfit photos in a backyard can be, anyway) and all good until Mike started laughing. Our neighbor was pretty confused as to why I was outside modeling hooker shoes and a skirt for my husband. We must be some kind of kinky.

... okay, so I realize that's not even remotely kinky, but whatever. On to more important things. Like this amazing DIY (I so wish I was crafty. and a trash digger. or both.). Or like how burritos are the best thing since sliced bread. Or... Like how my legs feel like they're going to fall off. You want to know why? Okay, let me tell you.

Have you ever heard of Insanity with Shaun T? Yeah, I've done that workout program 1.5 times (the half was the summer before we went to Germany). It's freaking hard.
You know what's harder, though? Kettlebell Kardio at the Northeast YMCA in Lincoln, NE. You may think I'm exaggerating, but I'm not. I have never been this sore. Now, I realize that this is only my 3rd week of working out, but seriously. It's like Insanity on steroids. Not only are you doing crap like burpees and cross-jacks, but you're adding in resistance training with one of these puppies:
Yeah. It sucked. And me, being the super competitive idiot that I am, decided to try and keep up with the ripped out of her mind instructor, even when my legs started to shake. Bad idea.

You know what else was a dumb idea? Going to cycling last night to try and make my legs feel better. Oh, they felt great when I was on the bike. When I got home, though? I started to crawl around the house because it was less painful than walking. Crawling was alternated with shrieks of pain. This was me:
Moral of the story: Don't ever exercise. Or, if you start exercising, don't take a year off, because it will kill you when you decide to go back to the gym.

The End.

WIWW. Crazy Cat Lady. Shoes. Vlogs. Other Stuff.

Linking up here.
shirt: walmart (3 for $7 - mens section, refashioned to fit snugly) sweater&belt: c/o sugarlips apparel (purchase here) pants: walmart shoes: ebay
You guys. I think I'm a real blogger now - I got this sweater from Sugarlips Apparel, and I am soo in love with it - it's lightweight and incredibly comfortable, plus it came with this adorable belt. It just doesn't get any better than that. If you're looking for a new store to spend all of your hard-earned money, well, then... go here.

In other news... I have compiled a list of Three Ways to Know You are a Crazy Cat Lady [it would be 5 but I'm running late on time]:

1. You put your cat on a leash and take him for walks. I think this is self-explanatory.

2. You talk to your cat. I'm talkin' full-on conversations. Like the one I had with Zeuss this morning, when I ranted to him about how difficult finding a balance is. He understands - all that napping, stalking, and eating is hard work, you know.

3. You take family photos with your cat, and put them on your christmas cards. Make sure he is appropriately clothed, though.
ANYWAY, it's now time for the What's on Your Feet? vlog linkup. Watch. Enjoy. Make fun of me. Watch others. Enjoy them. Make fun of them. And then go link up your own vlog!
Hope Squared
And FINALLY.... I have a giveaway for you all... mostly because you are amazing. And cool. And all that other stuff. Here's what you can win - enter in the Rafflecopter form below, one winner takes all this time (YES! IT'S OPEN INTERNATIONALLY!).

Sunday Confessions Link Up

Happy Sunday!

So. By now I'm sure you know the drill - grab a button and link up. Easy peasy.

I'll admit - these are not the most entertaining confessions ever. Sorry!

1. I had 5 nutella sandwiches yesterday. It's okay, though, guys - I have an excuse! We're moving in 2.5 weeks, and so I have to get rid of all the nutella, right?!

2. I am so excited to get some lake/four-wheeler time in. I guess that's a plus of going home soon- it's already in the 90s there, and the lake is calling my name. I'm actually really in the mood to spend a day floating down the Niobrara River or playing sand volleyball.

3. I'm doing it!!!! Get your minds out of the gutter. I'm going to start offering WordPress custom blog designs! Together with Mr. Husband (who wishes to be known from here on out as the coding ninja), I will be offering these ninja-coded designs for the low, low price of $100. That may seem high, but have you seen what a lot of people charge? Plus, it's basically building a website from nothin'. I bet you could even pay the coding ninja in milk and cookies (they'd have to be homemade). I would require nutella and ice cream.

4. I am not a normal girl. It just occurred to me that there is something seriously wrong with me - I am not a fan of shopping, and would rather spend almost all of my time outside hiking, biking, boating, whatever - I just don't like shopping, don't like doing my makeup or hair, and rarely spend more than 20 minutes getting ready in the morning.
My go-to look: a t-shirt, hair pulled back, and I'm willing to bet $100 that I'm wearing sweats. The cat is there just because he's cute.

5. I HATE it when girls cannot walk in heels. Guys, this is a HUGE pet peeve of mine. Especially when it's girls who wear them all the time or are really fashionable. I mean, honestly - it is not hard. I'm the least graceful person you will ever meet, and I do just fine. I feel like I should do a YouTube video on how to walk in heels, and display how ridiculous half of the female population looks while they're stumbling around attempting to look cool.

PLEASE, for the love of all that is holy, if you do not know how to walk in heels, DO NOT WEAR THEM. You just look stupid. Also, buy shoes that fit. Too often, I see people wearing heels like the ones below, and that's what contributes to the inability to walk.

Wow. That almost turned into a blog rant about how much I hate girls that cannot walk in their shoes. I'll save that for another day, though, because believe me, I could talk for hours about this pet peeve.

Am I ridiculous for getting that worked up about shoes, or is there something silly like that that REALLY bothers you, too??

Kicks.

Helloooo there!!

Okay, so you all know how much I love shoes. Or maybe you don’t, since I haven’t really had money to spend on shoes as of late  - living in the poor house can be rough, guys.

Anyway, if you didn’t know, I love shoes. I have over fifty pairs, and, thanks to Kickers, I know exactly which ones I want to add to my collection next. What’s that, you say? You want to know? Okay, I’ll tell you. These ones:
I can totally see myself sporting those shoes with my favorite skinnies, can’t you? Oh, and I think I like their men’s shoes even more than their women’s. Look at the ones I’ve already put in my imaginary shopping cart for Husband!
They’re pretty snazzy, right? And… if I had a baby/munchkin, I would probably have to invest in these puppies, too:
Aren’t they the cutest things ever?

Kickers is one of the very few brands that is able to make a whole family stylish – you, your hubby, your grandparents, mom, dad, family pet (okay, not really) – everyone can rock a pair of these shoes! So what are you waiting for? Step into a pair of Kickers!

**This is a paid, sponsored post. All opinions, however, are 100% mine.**

Favorite Things Friday

Howdy, frans!

TGIF. No, seriously. Thank frickin' goodness it's Friday. This week just seemed to drag by for me. I'm so happy it's the weekend!

As you know.. Friday always brings along a sweet little list of my favorite things. This week, I'm going to do a blogger edition.

1. Gentri Lee's interpretation of Effie Trinket from The Hunger Games. Seriously! Gentri just started Esthetician classes, and she's already pretty amazing. Just look at the makeup she did as she interpreted Effie Trinket. So cool, right?
Oh, and just to add to the awesome-ness... she recently started doing a Friday feature where she shares some of the cool stuff she's learned at school. Like... about waxing her nose and that fun stuff.
2. Anything from Erin at Living in Yellow. Guys... I don't know if you follow Erin, but if you don't... you probably should. I almost always leave her blog chuckling to myself. Plus, it helps that she's a fellow mac'n'cheese lover.
3. Cecilia's toucan shoes. Now... I only follow like, 2 fashion blogs (mostly because I have no hope of ever being as fashionable as those people, so I choose to just give it up), but you know I love me a good pair of shoes. shoes = my drug. So when I saw these puppies on Dearest Lou, I was smitten.
4. This post by mah friend B. at Different Paths, Same Destination. Okay, so you may have guessed that I am pretty passionate about loving the skin you're in. Hadn't guessed that? Oh, well... now you know. I'm not going to rant about it right now - I'll save you. I don't really have a picture... you just need to read it, because it's that good.

5. The new "Pass it Forward" project by Ashley. You guys remember the movie Pay It Forward? Well, that's what this project reminds me of. It's such a cool idea. It's a simple way to brighten somebody's day (and maybe make you feel a little better in the process). There's this new website, www.spreadtheshine.com, and, according to Ashley, this is how it works:

Pass it Forward is designed around a card. Each card is given a unique ID number. Lets say we're at McDonalds, and I decide to pay for the person behind me in the drive through. I'd give the cashier the card, and tell them to pass it along to the next car when the give them the food that has been paid for. I then go home and log into the website that was on the card, and find my unique ID number. I log into it, and add my information... My first name, city, and a description of what I did....
Let's say the person behind me was you, you would pass it forward to someone else, and then would go home and do the same thing. From the very beginning, you will be able to track where your card goes, and how many people you affect just by doing one simple act of kindness.

This is what the card looks like, so be on the lookout for one of these puppies:

So... there you go! Those are a few of my favorite things from the blogging world this week.
