Will I Ever Get These Things Done?

Hi guys!!!

So... tomorrow I'll be 24. That means I have one year to do twenty-five things. I think I can cross a few of these off my list, but we'll see how much motivation I actually end up having!

25 Before 25

1. Have a baby. Yes, I realize this is cheating because it's going to happen, but I always wanted to have my first child by the time I was 25, so it's going on the list.

2. Participate in a triathlon. Not a big one - just a triathlon. I really want to do this, and I've been putting it off for years.
3. Run a 5k in less than 28:00. My fastest 5k time is 28:40, and I want to beat that.

4. Go to a state that I've never been to. This is far more realistic than going to a foreign country I haven't visited, but I'd take either one.

5. Learn to make homemade noodles. For chicken noodle soup!

6. Go horseback riding. It's been a few years since I've gone for a ride, and I miss it, so this is on my list.
7. Sell my bike and get a road bike. I don't have much more to say about this. I currently have a Trek hybrid, and I love it, but I really want a road bike.

8. Start a garden. I hate gardening... but I guess I should probably try it out.

9. Try to like carrots. This one is probably impossible, but we'll see how it goes. I'm really going to try to trick myself into eating those nasty things.

10. Go water skiing. My in-laws recently got a boat, and I fully intend to go out every weekend until I've learned how to water ski.

11. Try sushi. I've had it before, but I want to be brave and try it again.
12. Ride an exotic animal. I don't care if I have to go to a zoo or a carnival or steal an elephant from one of those places... I WILL do this.

13. Sew at least ten things. It doesn't really matter what they are, but I'd like to find the time to get better at sewing.

14. Read 100 books (children's books don't count).  I figure I'll have some time on my hands when I'm on maternity leave. Maybe.

15. Donate more to the needy. Whether it's time, money, or belongings, I'd like to give a little bit more to those who are less fortunate than myself.

16. Show my husband how much I love him. I'd like to be a little more active in how I show my love to Mike. Whether it's leaving little notes or making him his favorite dinner, I want to be better.
17. Go to a blogger meet-up. I have so many of you that I'd love to meet, and I'd like it to be before I'm on my deathbed.

18. Start a charitable organization or project. I'd really love to start some sort of organization that encourages (and helps) less privileged young women to not only graduate from high school, but to go on to college. So many young girls don't even get the chance to finish high school, whether it's because of abuse, petty crime, teen pregnancy, etc. etc., and I want to be there to encourage them to stay on the straight and narrow - to show them what their life could be if they really tried (and had positive influences in their lives).

19. Build a snowman.

20. Host a party. I don't really care what kind of party it is, but I want to host a party!

21. Learn to change my oil. Mike always changes the oil in the car, and I want to learn how to do it!

22. Go skydiving. I am scared to death of heights, but I'd love to do this.

23. Go to an amusement park. I've been to plenty, I just have to put it on this list so that it gets done. I'd love to take the little one to Disneyland. :)
24. Be debt free. Uh... except student loans. There's now way that THAT one will happen.

25. Take chances, make mistakes, and learn from them.

Happy happy (almost) birthday Alyx dear! i LOVE your list. I absolutely approve of #7 (you'll look awesome on a road bike) :) and I feel the same way about #8! obligated, but I won't enjoy it, haha. good luck with #12. :)
You should come to Idaho and do #17 AND #19 together! (meet idaho bloggers and build a snowman! but there's only like, 6 other bloggers that I know of here, so... maybe you'll want to pick a cooler meetup)
anyway, happy birthday week!

Great list!!! Except the sushi will have to lay off until you're not pregnant I guess :P BUT make sure you go to a really renowned place so you enjoy your next sushi experience.

And I will be really jealous of your road bike - I always envy people on road bikes. The tiny tires scare me though.

Number 5 (the noodles): http://www.greatmanythings.com/2012/01/chicken-noodle-soup-yum.html BAM. DONE. It's like, super easy. I'm making it this afternoon. If you make it today too, it'll be like we're cooking together! We could even skype it, and then we'll be hanging out (which is sort of like another one on your list, but I don't remember the number).

ALSO: Sending you pics today for the wallet giveaway. Promise.

Great list! I started one of these recently, but I'm still 23 so I'm giving myself extra time- ambitious of you to do it all in a year :)

#3) I'd recommend trying carrots with different dips (like ranch or hummus) or do cooked carrots- much sweeter than raw.

Those are some pretty awesome goals for 25 - happy early birthday! Oh... and I used to not like sushi but I feel like it's kind of an acquired taste - love it now!

I will be your triathlon buddy! I have wanted to do one for years. One tiny problem, okay well two problems really, I don't own a bike, and I don't swim, but I've got the running part down! ;) Let's do this!

I trick my son into eating carrots, cover them with broccili and cheese and call them the hidden planets! he he heee.

Eeeee this is so exciting! So many good things headed your way. In regards to carrots, I used to hate them as well but when I pair them with peanut butter it's a match made in heaven. Try it!

There's not one of these that's not do-able. Make a list of things you can do while pregnant, and then make a list of things you can do AFTER pregnancy (like sky diving, triathalon, etc). They all seem totally do-able! Good luck!

You don't like carrots??? I don't even know what to say....

Good luck with your list lady!

For #4 - Have you been to MA!?
Sorry I can't help it but these are wonderful aspirations and I have no doubt in my mind you will achieve all that you wish :)

Awesome list! I too would love to do a triathalon, but I'm aiming for a mini one first! Carrots - have you tried to sweeten them with brown sugar or maple syrup? Any interest in going to BlogHer next July for their blogger conference... I just got my ticket last week (the price goes up soon) but you should check it out and we can meet up! :)

Happy Birthday! That is a mighty ambitious list for someone who'll be pregnant for half the year and have a baby the other half! I wish you much luck!

Fun list, too!

Great list!! Do you have ones that are specific for during pregnancy and after pregnancy? Love the build a snowman one.... if only I lived somewhere that got snow.... I think a rain man is something different.... lol. ~Stephanie

Awesome list!!! That's a lot to complete in one year, but it'll be a super fun year! :o)

I've always wanted to do a triathlon, too, but I suck at swimming. And I have nowhere to practice so I can get better. Maybe one day!

100 books in a year. If you complete that, I will be incredibly jealous. I would be proud of myself if I finished 10 books in one year!

Happy early birthday, girl! Oh gosh, I only have 5 months to do 25 before 25, I guess I should get on this. I definitely have to be better at reading more books. DEFINITELY want to ride an exotic animal (which will probably be accomplished by the time I'm 30, ha).
Great list, girl!

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I hope it's fantastic!

I think you need to make a trip to North Carolina (if you haven't been) and we'll go get sushi! That way you can cross two things off your list!

Happy early birthday! These 25 were fun! For carrots, my favourite way to eat them is to steam them a bit, and then fry them in a pan with olive oil and lots of basil + a bit of garlic powder. Yuuuuummmmmmmm. I know you don't like 'em but maybe you'll find a way you can tolerate them?

It's 30 minutes until your birthday in your time zone! Not in mine, but yours is the one that really counts, so happy birthday 30 minutes early.

Your list is epic. I think 85% of those things are on my "get these done before I turn 30" list. Because I'm creeping on 30, and that list is kind of expansive.

I think that if we cold weather camp, it should count as a blogger meet-up. And if it doesn't, we should ind a 3rd blogger couple to join us, so that it does count for sure.

My cousin and his wife own a condo 15 minutes from Disneyland. Just throwing that out there.

I vote Disneyland to cross off the blogger meet up too ;) Jussss sayin.
