Favorite Things Friday

So... it's Friday! I didn't really have a real week, so it seems a little soon for the weekend, but who's complaining? Not this girl. 
So... who wants a premade template for $20? Color changes are $5. Email me. 
I don't have a spot on my design site for templates, yet, so I'm putting it here. 

Anyway... Time for a little list of my favorite things!! 


1. Tiffany Alvord's cover of "I Won't Give Up." I love it! I think I might actually like it more than the original. Don't hate me!!!


2. The smell of springtime. Flowers, if we're getting specific. Germans love their gardens, and I love them for that. Echzell smells amazing right now. That's a plus of living in a teensy town, right?!

3. Blates. I went on one!!! I met Bailey in Heidelberg on Monday, and it was great to meet another blogger in Germany!! I'll blog about that soon.

4. Finding new recipes. You guys are awesome, and when I ask for recipes, you deliver. Approximately half of them contain cheddar cheese (which I can't find anywhere here), so they have gone on my Pinterest food board until I get back to the states. The other half of them will be (and have been) feeding Husband and I, so keep em coming! [Yes, that was me encouraging you to share more yummy recipes with me].
Even more important than the recipes... I just figured out how to embed pins. I'm a little slow.

5. Students doing well. My student that I was tutoring passed his Abitur!!! AND he did really well on his oral exam!!! I'm so proud of him!!

Happy Vacation!! First Stop: Ibiza, Spain

Hey guys!!! 


Hopefully I'm on my way to (or in) Ibiza, Spain when you read this. If all goes well, they will let us out of the country. We haven't got our visas yet, so we're freaking out a lot a little. This weekend has been really stressful for me, and I don't handle stress very well.

Anyway, I just wanted to share a couple things with you all!

Favorite Things Friday

Howdy, ya'll! I'd make such a good Texan, wouldn't I?!

First of all, I'm over here guest posting today!! 


Anyway. It's Friday, and you all know what that meeans!! Some of my favorite things! The theme today is spring. 


1. All of the trees are blossoming, and that means pretty things to decorate with!! 

2. Spring rain. We haven't actually had any yet, but I love the smell of rain, the smell after it rains, and the fact that it's not 33 degrees and rainy.

3. Fruit. There's so much more fruit available at the store now that it's springtime and more things are coming in season.
4. Spring Break. You didn't think I'd forget this one, did you? Can you guess which 2 places we're going? Just pretend that the second picture doesn't tell you...

PS: I bought red lipstick in real life because I dreamed that I bought some... and now I have no idea how to wear it without looking weird. I put some on today and I thought it looked sort of silly...

We had a pretty chillaxed weekend around these parts. Mainly just enjoyed the beautiful weather, played in the forest, and rebelled by not wearing green on St. Patrick's Day (although I'm sure no one noticed, because I don't think St. Patrick's Day is celebrated in Germany). I don't really feel like writing much right now, so here are some goodies for your viewing pleasure.

That's So Random.

Hey there little bloglings. 
I don't really have anything in particular to talk about today, so you get a bunch of random thoughts that are going through my brain. 
-- I'm 6'6" ish in these shoes. 

-- I'm still not a fan of carrots, no matter how hard I try. At least I'll eat them now, as long as they're not raw. -- I felt like taking pictures today because it was sunny outside. That is the only reason I took off my sweatpants and put on real clothes. 

-- As soon as I was done taking these... I put my sweats back on. They're more comfortable. -- I made brownies (from scratch: hollllleeerrrrrr) last night. Husband and I are the only people who live here. Do the math. PS: There may or may not be one less now than in the picture... 

-- I've tried going more than one day without washing my hair... but I can't do it. If I shower, I have to wash my hair. 

-- I'm thinking about buying a domain. What do you guys think of "itsalyx.com?" You know, just in case I decide to change the blog name someday. FYI: I'll probably buy it regardless of what you guys say... because I think it's nifty. :)-- I'm trying really hard to grow my hair out. I chopped 14 inches off in August... and so far I've grown about 6 inches of it back. If you were wondering... no, it doesn't look that amazing in real life. 

-- I didn't number this list because I didn't want my "multiples of 5" OCD to kick in. Now that I've typed that, I have the urge to count... -- I counted, and this makes 10. I win.
