If It's Still in Your Mind, it's Worth Taking the Risk.

Heeeeey guys!

Kelly had that quote up there (from Paulo Coelho) on her blog the other day, and that puppy just about smacked me in the face.

There's something you should know about me - I am the type of person who wants a lot of things for myself. I'm not talking about the latest clothes or shoes, here - I'm talking achievements. I'm also the type of person who will not stop until I accomplish those things, or until I've gotten where I want to be. If I want something, I will work until I get it. If I want to do something, I will do it. If I want to accomplish something, I will accomplish it.

Lately, though, I've been a little apprehensive. I've thought a lot about certain things, but have decided for myself that I'm not ready, that it's not worth the risk.

Excuse my French here, ladies (and gents), but that attitude is a load of freakin' bull crap. Why do we think like that? How in the world do we know whether or not we are ready for something unless we try? Who are we to decide that something is not worth the risk/effort/work it would take?

These things, the ones that I've been thinking about... I can't get them out of my mind, no matter how many times I tell myself those things above. It's like they are constantly in the back of my mind, trying to push their way to the forefront of my thoughts, but part of me is shoving them back, yelling at them to get out.
That, my friends, is why this quote hit me - because it's true. If you can't get something out of your mind, then go for it. What is the purpose of dreams if we don't chase them?

Little Randoms. Toilets. Elephants.

Hiiii!!!

So lately my life has been spent on the computer. I have a ridiculous amount of English homework because I'm trying to finish two Independent Study classes in less than 8 weeks, and that's one of the reasons I haven't exactly been the best blogger, either. Sorry if I'm not commenting as much on your posts or if I'm leaving super generic comments. I promise that I love you all and that I will be better once this is over! Oh, and PLEASE for my sake, turn off your comment word verification!!! I mean, REALLY. This affects my homework productivity levels, people!!!

Anyway, because of this whole English is taking over my life thing, I don't have any super creative, crazy "Germans are interesting because..." stories. Just a bunch of random thoughts that run through my mind when I should be doing homework.

1. I have always wanted to ride an elephant. For some reason, this has been on my mind a lot lately. Don't ask, because I have no answers for you.
2. If you want to find out about that one time I scored a goal for the other team, you have to go here. This is also the blog of the girl with the most amazing eyebrows.
3. I really need to clean and rearrange our apartment. It's been the same for too long, and it's driving me crazy. Plus, since my life has been taken over by homework, the apartment has suffered in the cleanliness department. I'm not even going to put a picture here, because I'm embarrassed by what it looks like. Let's just say that if one of you decided to make a spontaneous visit, it would take me more than 10 minutes to make the place presentable.

4. I have time to do ONE more blog design before I go out of town for 2 weeks. If you're interested, prices and portfolio are here. I get them done within a couple of days as long as you email me back. I just recently finished this one for Bri. Check it out on her site.

5. I had another weird/vivid dream last night. It involved walking into my in-laws' bathroom and discovering that it had 2 toilets instead of one, and flowery toilet paper. One toilet was German, and the other was American. I sat there for what seemed like hours trying to decide which one to use.

So anyway. That's how exciting my life is - toilet dreams and thinking about riding an elephant.

On Dreams. And a winner

No, not the Susan Boyle or Les Miserables kind of dreams - the what the heck does my subconscious actually think about when I'm not listening kind of dreams.
Lately I have been having some really freaky dreams. Really weird stuff is happening in them. Case in point:

1. Witnessing a bunch of people get beheaded. This one had me up in a cold sweat.

2. Vampire bunnies. I've talked about that already.

3. Going to Walmart. And buying pretty much everything in the store, including red lipstick. I took this as a hint that I needed to purchase some myself in real life, and will be debuting my clown-face tomorrow or Wednesday. Stay tuned for that.
4. Driving a car through the mountains. And driving right off the side of a cliff. My car was sailing through the air with me in it, and I woke up right before it crashed into a bunch of trees.
5. Trying to catch a "panda bird" in a jar. I had this one last night. You may be thinking, What the eff is a panda bird? I have a picture of it in my mind, and when I googled it, this is a picture I found that resembles the bird most:
So anyway, I was teaching my 13th graders, then all of a sudden, the teacher asked me to go catch the panda bird in a jar that she gave me so that we could do a lesson on it. I went outside and tried to catch it, but no luck. I'd just gotten the bird to put its head in the jar when I heard "Play That Funky Music" telling me to wake up. Dream Interpretations welcome.

And just for fun - what's the craziest dream you've ever had? I would like to know that I'm not the only one...

PS: Jessica was the winner of the German candy! Congrats! Send me an email by tomorrow evening, and I'll get you your prize!
