Favorite Things Friday

Hola!

So... It just occurred to me that I haven't really talked about my wedding on this here blog at all. Well, except for that one time that I told you everything that went wrong. I think it's time to focus on some of my favorite things about that day.

So... without further ado, I have Favorite Things Friday: My Wedding Edition [accompanied by some of my favorite photos]

1. Mike sang to me. It was beautiful. He has an amazing voice, and I bawled like a freakin' baby.

2. My dress. Cheesy, I know, but I loved my dress. Would you believe that I never saw it in person/tried it on? I just found it online, called the company to see if they could add seven inches, and had it super rush delivered.

3. The promises we made with each other and God. Marriage is a pretty serious thing, but when you promise to love each other through everything, no matter what... that's pretty awesome. It's even better when you know that God is there to help you through it. Believe me, there have been times where I've wanted to punch Mike right in the face. But then I remember the promises I made, and how much I love him, and suddenly those problems that seemed punch-worthy are gone.
Side note: I do not beat my husband. lol.
4. The way Mike looked at me across the altar. So much love, I can't even describe. For rizzle - marriage is a pretty awesome thing.
5. The wedding night. HAHAHAHA!!! Sorry. But seriously. Come on now. You'd be lying if you said yours wasn't nice.

So... if you're married, what was the best part of your wedding? If you're not, what are you looking forward to the most? And don't pretend you haven't thought about it. ;)

He sang to you? Awwww, that's great! And I love your dress! So pretty1 I ordered mine online too and I tried it on one day before the wedding. haha. But yeah, our wedding was so spontaneous, it wasn't even a real wedding dress. But still cute.

love the dress!!! It looked amazing :)

That dress is gorgeous! I'd say the best thing about ours was the food (it was so yummy at the tasting!) but we never got any during the reception! That was a mistake because I wound up drinking the whole bottle of champagne myself, haha!

Wow I can't believe you ordered your dress online without trying it on, it looks amazing on you!

The best part of ours was when Andrew was going through the drive thru at Taco Bell, and his dad called him to ask a question and he goes "Hang on a sec Dad, Yeah I want a seven-layer burrito and 2 chalupas..." Hahahaha now it's a family joke ;) I think you've inspired me to do this about our wedding day! Yeah I think I'm gonna ;) And your dress? Gorgeous!

Your dress really is beautiful! I'm glad they could add an extra 2 feet to the dress for you. ;o)

You know what - my favorite part about my wedding day was driving to our honeymoon after the ceremony. We had a 5-6 hour drive to Gatlinburg and we were both so giddy and happy! We almost pulled over on the side of the highway to dance when a good song came on. We are such dorks.

Great photos! Can't believe you never tried on your dress!

You are WORKING that dress! Which, by the way, looks amazing on you. There was never a prettier bride in all the land. (besides me, naturally)

I'd have to say the best part of my wedding were the bells that went off after we said our vows and were walking out of the church. I didn't know they were coming, and it's awesome to have bells going off on your big day.

Another thing that was awesome was the food. OH. MY. LORD. I ate and drank like a pig. Seriously. My maid of honor and I finished an entire tray of treats by ourselves. And the cake was amazing too. My hubby got just a wee-bit buzzed, but my in-laws got pretty wham bammed if you know what I mean. LOL. Actually, I think mostly everyone got pretty buzzed. oh well.

I'd love to do my whole wedding over again. It was such an amazing day. It always brings a smile to my face to remember it.

You guys are the cutest! My favorite part of the whole wedding day was before the sealing. Dan and I were sitting in the celestial room by ourselves well there was a temple worker in there. We were in there for a good 30 or 40 min waiting for my grandpa our sealer to come talk to us. It was so amazing. So peaceful and we just felt so many things. It was my favorite moment of the whole day! :)

Oh and I love that you said the wedding night. bahaha! ;)

I love your dress! One of my favorite details of my wedding was my bouquet and jewelry (I made it myself). And one of my favorite moments was sitting with TJ in the hallway just before our sealing. Just the two of us.

Thanks for sharing. Re your point no 5 tho about the wedding night.. thats kinda a generalisation. I know when a friend of mine got married not only wasnt it nice, she didnt get any.. Her husband passed out drunk and she watched tv in their hotel room..:(

You looks stunning in that dress! I didn't ever try mine on either, same exact thing. I found it online and sent them my measurements. People think we're crazy, don't they??

Also wedding night was a blast!

ALYX! You were STUNNING on your wedding day. Absolutely breathtaking! Gorgeous. My favorite part was the dancing. Our first dance, all eyes on us, but yet it felt like we were the ONLY two people in the room. It was magical. And then the rest of the fun dancing all night, I never left the dance floor :)

Yay for happy wedding memories! :) Not that your bad wedding memories weren't interesting... You know what I mean. :) My favorite things about my wedding... Just standing there in front of the bishop and hubs kept squeezing my hand. The sweet 'speech' the bishop gave about knowing both our families. Dancing the night away! Then, because we were exhausted bailing to get some sleep! hahaha

Awesome. This really helps my craving for a husband. hahahahaha

What a fun post - - - you are both just gorgeous people, so you make a gorgeous couple.

Hmmmm - - - favorite things about our wedding NEARLY 37 YEARS AGO - - - not sure, but here are some of the FUNNY things:

1) Fisherhubby and all his family cried through the whole ceremony while my family grinned ear to ear.

2) My SIL, who was a bridesmaid, spent the day hiking with her boyfriend, even though her dress was NOT yet hemmed, and I go NERVOUS enough about it that late in the afternoon I hemmed it FOR HER - - - good thing 'cause they "waltzed in" with just minutes to spare

3) Someone took a shot of FH in his tux, nearly ready to go, but sitting in a very pensive pose like he was about to BOLT.

4) It was HOT AS HADES that day.

5) We got married in the south where the traditional wedding cake was POUND cake - - - I didn't think to tell my yankee parents that, and they were mortified at how HEAVY and non-weddingish the cake was.

You look absolutely gorgeous! Great dress choice! You didnt tell me your husband was so handsome!
The best part of a wedding is when you are pronounced man and wife. In that moment, its not just you anymore. It is a life changer.

Beautiful dress! And my husband sang for me too!! What did your husband sing??

My favorite part of our wedding were the gospel singers in the church and when my husband did a fist pump after the ceremony... too cute :)
